I put my supra up against a couple of mr2 turbos in a straight line and the supra destroyed them every time, Ionic. I had a boost controller and exhaust done, so did they.

I had an mr2 SW20 turbo, i also had a supra. I can tell you right now that the supra is a far superior vehicle. People saying otherwise have obviously not spent time in a supra. end of story.

I was putting a v6 into my mr2 when i bought the supra as a daily and the supra was so far advanced in comparison it seemed stupid to continue (with the mr2) so I didn't.

Also. I'm not aware of sw20's destroying supras on the race track. Ever? School me if needed.

when was the last time you heard someone dis a supra who had actually owned one or who had actually had the time to thrash one? (hoping nobody here has already done this, hahaha)

bla bla ego stroking bla bla- I'm pretty honest. If the supra was a waste of time and $$ I'd be saying so, just like i've ragged on so many other vehicles that ive owned.

What times were you doing? I personally saw a stock (aside from wheels) SW20 beat a stock JZA80 at Meremere, the Supra did a 14.1, The MR2 did a 13.8. I was driving the Supra in question. Not much in it but a win's a win right? I also watched a certain purple Supra doing mid 14's at Meremere as well with light mods (exhaust, intake etc) which is slightly higher than a stock SW turbo time...Then there are videos like this on youtube

Obviously driver ability and many other factors come into it then this whole discussion is subjective isn't it?

On the track I'm just basing my statement on what I've seen at Manfeild. I MR2's seem to be able to come into corners with more speed than Supras and hold more agressive lines without things getting hairy. Cornering is something every MR2 I've ever driven does very well, Supras need decent suspension/strut braces to stay nice and flat through them IMO.

I've spent time in a few Supras. Everything from MA70's to modified JZA80's. I drove one as a daily for 6 months and have driven various others on the strip/track when friends let me. I even drove your Supra after you got rid of it I know the Supra is a superior vehicle, if you read my last post the word "inferior" was used to describe the SW20 It was just an example (and obviously a bad one in your eyes) of a car that performance wise *may* be better in some ways but is at least on par in most IMO.

All I'm saying is I don't see why people compare them to supercars when there are quicker cars (or if this makes you happier, cars just as fast that handle just as well/better) out of Japan. I only used the SW20 as an example, There are so many more potent cars out there before you even reach supercar status that I don't get how a car that isn't particularly fast until it's modified gets to join the club...

gotta agree with you on something I guess. Although I don't think they discriminate on the colour of the top.
