I bought it,

Started driving it all the way home,

And then I broke it!

Clutch slave cylinder gave up, getting fixed tomorrow and hopefully back on the road to finish this big ass road trip home haha

^^^ Ohh that sucks. I hope the tow wasn't too expensive!

So far so good :). I read around a dozen reviews about this particular model before purchasing and all of the feedback was very good, and so far it has lived up to expectations.
Quality is very good (I changed it to 720p to get 60fps) and it's so discreet that I forget that it's even there. I also installed one in my partner's Toyota Wish today too. Cheapest place to get one that I found is on AliExpress: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2015-A11 ... 22375.html

Is that the Corona turbo that was on trademe last week? Super cool! Bad luck, the first of many new old car adventures I'm sure!

The Tow was free, I bought an AA roadside assist plan for the supra, and knew it might come in handy for this haha, and it did!

Yeah thats the one off trademe, seller was super cool, picked me up from the airport and let me drive his other 4A-GE powered one on the way to get the GT-TR which was cool

Aside from the engine seals weeping oil as they are 30 years old and hard requiring me to keep an eye on it and top it up a little bit every now and then, and the above clutch cylinder issues, its been great!

fingers crossed they are able to sort it today sometime so I can cannonball home to Invercargill from CHCH, as awesome as this week long roadtrip has been, It would be cool to sleep in my own bed again!

Haha, that's true ;)

It got a bit more loving today with the installation of these genuine Toyota optional JDM license plate frames. These wouldn't normally fit NZ license plates as they're a lot wider and shorter than the Japanese ones, but since we have personalized message plates on the Wish they happen to be the same height as the JDM plates to accommodate for the writing on top. The length was still an issue though, so we had to cut a small section of each side off the plates. It all worked out well in the end though and the end result is subtle, but very effective :)

It was tough seeing the IS350 diving away. Silver lining is that boost will always bring a smile to my face.

Gave it a clay bar, polish and sealant. I'll add some wax when I have motivation again. A few other tidy up bits being replaced over the next couple of weeks. Not sure what direction this will take me but it's early days yet...

Congrats on the purchase/swap. I can imagine it being pretty tough to see the IS350 driving away but the new one is a slightly different kettle of fish. Will be interesting to see what you do with it 8)

Family sedan FTW!

Yep, 4yo boy, 3yo girl and a 3mo girl. The scary part is that the Wish still has two spare seats! :o. I've told the Mrs not to get any ideas

You need to take some advice from the Japanese train system!

How big is your 4yo? I think the harness on those are rated to 18kg, I had just converted my boys to use the belt recently. Is great these have such a long lifespan

What's that? Get in quick, hold on tight then get ready to make a speedy exit before you reach your destination? :P

I'm sure you'll be very pleased when yours arrive. They're a rather heavy car seat but are easiest I've ever used to transfer from car to car and they don't leave horrible indentations or marks in your seats like a lot of other seats do.

Thanks for the reminder! I just got him to jump on the bathroom scales and he's currently 18.1kg, so it looks like it's time for us to start using it with the seatbelts too :)

I just got home from work to find that my Alutec front strut bar had arrived from overseas so I was quick to put it on while there was still some daylight around. It took me a while to find a seller online who sells these particular bars but I managed to get directly in touch with the manufacturer and they were very helpful. I could have quite easily bought a white Ultra Racing bar locally, but I really liked the silver metallic colour of this one as it matches the engine cover and colour of my car, and the design/build quality look very impressive, so after parting with a couple of hundred dollars and a week of waiting this is the end result. Looking forward to giving it a test run on the way to work tomorrow morning :D
