turns the neons on, lol

relay works as a middleman which switches the power to your device. Fogs lights etc use them. very common.

4 sides to a relay, again like pyro i cant remember the numbering

Positive 12V - Constant power, run from battery or other constant power source, can be run off ignition if you only want it on when the key is turned

Input - From the switch, also has 12V going in. Or in your case the door triger.

Ground - As it says, ground, ie chassis

Output - Again, as it says, output, goes to neons
I had vtax :(

Neons are ghey.

Why would you want to show off that you have a really cool green light that makes your feet glow?

But if your going to do it, do what perv said. Least that way they wouldn't be on all the time.

Do something original.. use them to light your wheel arches or create a subtle glow in your bumper or something....

ok, i hav finally got roud to doin this :? and its all wired up and working  8)
However, when the key is off, it dosent work! which is pointless cos its not often u open ur door and the key is in the ignition already :? So where can I tap a continuous 12v+ from? that wont turn off after the key is off.

Don't relly want to have to run a line to the attery but will if I have to

Anything that works when the car is off. Even tap into the stereos 12 volt memory if you needed. Or the hazard light switch, or the lights. Plenty of places to chose from.

have it running to the headlight switch, or the accessories switch on the ignition. or just solder them to the back of the ciggie lighter. i spliced mine into one ciggie lighter plug, and just fed the wire back into the dashboard, looks fine and works well.
TVIS just kicked in, yo!

Does anyone want a diagram of how this goes or are we all smarter than me?

P.S. barry, the sig is great, ppl don't get me eitha **looks at sykotic**

I would like the wiring diagram... I have a few things I want to wire up like this.

I added that to the sig after some people thought I was serious, when I thought I was clearly being sarcastic.

now "fuse box" can be replaced by anything, in this case, your door switch.

When door open (door switch on), power goes to switch, If switch = on, then power goes to relay (and indicator as seen here), when relay receives power it then allows a larger current through via 30 / 87, 87a can be used for foglights so that one foglight can run off different points of the relay (equal current maybe?, maybe when one blows the other wont go superbright? theyll both just always be superbright? lol)

anyhow, thats what i was told, oh and remember the fuse... nothing worse than burnt out wiring *shudder*
