One of my freinds was codriving and hapend to spew up in the first stage... He must be a hard man going back for more after spewing in almost every stage in an event two weeks ago! And hes my future codriver.... :? :? :)

Hey was a good weekend...the starlet was definately the highlight, Todd and I were standing on the bank he decided to climb, shook like hell...the bank, not Todd haha ;)

The roads up there are the best eh, and awesome to see Evos, soobys etc in their true form rather than with chrome everywhere doing 20km on Queen Street :)

SS6 was a highlight - about half way through - the 90degree corner, into a short straight, over a narrow bridge and then immediately a 150degree corner...Ayling in car 3's co-driver apprently called it a '150flat' and ended up about 20metres into the paddock, which meant that the majority of the 60+ field left to go through had a good go at it as well, as the tape etc had been taken down with Aylings off!

Cahuna - i also corrected the locals on that stage when they said 'meaaaaan dihatsu' as you powered on through...DIHATSU! pfffft ;)

They were however 3/4's of the way through a classy cask of wine and had had plenty of the local specialty herbal substances ;)

Ah yes, many of the locals we met appeared to have been indulging in some of Northland's finest

That corner in SS6 was an absolute bastard of a corner! My co-driver called it as a caution (right after bridge) but unlike other bridges earlier in the day this one turned immediately as you came off the bridge, and you couldn't see it earlier. We were wondering who it was that took out the fence  , sadly because I actually listen to the caution calls (unlike some people) I probably looked like a complete wuss as I went around that corner!
We know that four-wheel drive doesn't work in a racing car, and I proved to myself that it doesn't work very well for rallycross. I'm absolutely convinced that it has no future in rallying, either, even if the regulations allowed it. - Roger Clark (rallying legend), circa 1976

If you made it round that corner you were in the minority though!

Good on ya sounds like you had a great weekend, makes me think i should stop mucking around with my club car and continue on with the rally car build.
3rd in your 1st rally you must have been flying in some places then, i'd say i'm probably going to be a big wuss in my 1st rally - don't want to do what my old flatmate did and roll in the second stage of his 1st one
