For me it really depends you cant just put ur money on one model there is the facelift and non facelift to think about. I didnt like the facelift at first but its starting to grow on me slightly but yes levins are more common......maybe its because they are nicer....in my opinion the levin looks evil .......well atleast mine does

I have an AE111 levin, but i have also had a Trueno, i like both. Roadskin's comment about more levins about that trueno i dont agree with. I dont see very many levins in Palmy, but heaps of trueno's, and try searching here for both ae111 levin, and ae111 trueno. I know which there are more post's on

I just jumped on trademe and did a search for Toyota cars between 1995-2001 and then typed in the following

Levin - 271
Trueno - 66

4.1 Levins to every Trueno...I'm close enough

I support the Trueno cause. Levin looks ok usually except for the 101 which has that ugly grill on the front.
I live my life 1000RPM at a time. Nothing else matters, not the blown piston rings, the wasted distributor, the popping oil cap and all that other stuff. For those 8000RPM or more, im free.

everyone has their favourites- agreed. I have a BZ-R Trueno. So naturally i'll say truenos rock. BUT who has facts and hard evidence that one is better than the other. Toyota must have made two near identical cars for a reason. What facts support their claim.
Going along the lines of a Trueno/Levin on a AE111 chassis-
eg. factory dyno, motors, torque, factory suspension differences. If they were lined up side by side, with a 400m straight in front of them, what car is going to leave the factory doors and get down there the fastest?
Power is how fast you hit the wall... Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

mechanicly they are the same

the ONLY difference is the look of a few items.....

so.... look at several examples

and choose one that suits the look you like, and is in the condition you like

They also have very similar "teacup" tail lights to a 10A RX3 Savanna too.

It is well know that trueno's are faster than levins. Unless of course you want to go crazy with mods then it's the size of your wallet that counts. Trueno's also look better :)
