It's the smaller Tundra with the bigger engine

Regular cab long bed 2x4....

In canada the hilux name "tacoma" and the are 32 000$+tx in king cab 4x4

the Tundra 5.7 2x4 regular cab is 28 000$+tx

the 4 door crew max version 4x4 detail for 52 000$+tx

Revhead, next time you are in Christchurch I should introduce you to Andrew Thomason, the owner of Full Size Performance.
Hes the only converter of Tundras in NZ. Unfortunately a contract to convert the new Tundra has fallen through and hes not willing to develop the 150k worth of tooling to convert the 2007 Tundra... although he owns a double cab, big engine, big bed one himself. Beautiful machine, considerably better looking than the older Tundras.
Hes also the owner of the Rod Millen offroad race Tundra, with a custom TRD V8 engine. Its been detuned for reliability and only puts out around 600bhp NA. Andrew also supports and has access to Rod Millens short course / hill climb truck, upon which his truck is based (only stronger).

Is'nt the Tundra the U.S version of a Hilux??????

I no Rod Millen's hill climb truck is called a Tundra in the U.S and Hilux here.It would be interesting to no the difference's in these two trucks beyond LHD and engine size's.

yeah kind of. although as said previously they can get bigger beds and a decent engine in theirs. plus i think its actually bigger overall, at leats looks it. its pretty much an americanized hilux.

whats funny about it, is that I realise that these things are seen as a giant cock replacement... but I just don't care...

The two arent anything alike. The Tundra is considerably bigger with no panels, chassis or switchgear in common with the Hilux. They are also vastly better equiped.

Rod Millens Truck, although it looks nothing like either a Tundra or Hilux and as far as I know has no toyota parts in it, is always called a Tundra.
