modded the wall socket to accept the larger earth lug, havent made anything go pop yet and have welded 12mm mild sttel plate HOT...

Ya I cut down the earth pin on my mig to fit 10A sockets. Haven't managed to pop a circut breaker/start any electrical fires yet
