i can confirm it was dangerous, well felt like it was anyway.

But sometimes there is not a lot of other options.

Ditto, but add a VERY short rope and torrential rain. I was also in a mini being towed by a cefiro.... ALL I could see was the back bumper. I thought I was going to DIE!!!!

Best story ever: Was towing a mg metro(no lights, doors duct taped closed) around to paraparaumu via fishermans table. and we had a bit of a queue behind us after a while. We past a cop and sh*t, he pulls out and makes us pull over... next thing "SORRY GUYS!!! DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE TOWING!!!!!" And he proceeds to put his flashy lights on and block a whole lane of bumper to bumper traffic so we can pull back out!! Awesome!

i got towed from manfeild to Brads house in Palmy in my FX when i blew it up
tow rope was a railway strop, being towed by my mate in is homodoore
lets just say he was the one deciding on the speed (100kph)
it was damn hard to see anything with my bucket seats, and the fact the strop was pretty short
also stopping sucked, no power assist, no power steering and mintex race pads - stopping/slowing down with cold brakes sucks, even at 50kph

i thought the law was something about 30kph max?

Girlfirends Mirage wouldnt start when we stopped for petrol, one afternoon.
She had State roadside assist, but that was a complete waste of F*&$n time, tow truck driver wanted $170 for the car to be towed from Lower Hutt to Miramar, or to the nearest repair place, no way would we leave that car at any garage, where they would charge storage as well.
After a few words were said to the insurance company, told them to sodd off, we contacted a friend to come tow us back home. The ONLY way back to Miramar is to go on the motorway. We were doing 70kmh to 75kmh.
Also try and find a tow truck that can take a lower than factory car, on a late saturday afternoon/night.

Not to mention the stress level!!!! Tow truck company's (and this is a broad generlisation of my experience), their trucks and their drivers don't really care so much for the car or the owner... hrmmm... I'd get my car flat towed again rather than a random 'it'll be sweet mate' towie who smelled worse than a unwashed dog on a summers day!

 Plus, no one touches my bloody race car with out proving themselves first!!!! Jake and Sarah FTW! :)
'96 RS Mirage Race car... (and when I'm a good girl; EVO 1!!) 2014 Toyota Hilux - daily driver!!
Gone but not forgotten: Race car AE85.6 Levin, AE101 Trueno, 84 MR2 AW11, 94 MR2 SW20, SR coupe KE35, AE92 FXGT, AE91 FXZS...

Why brag about that? Just makes you and your mate seem stupid and immature.

Mind you its a pain when the towing vehicle has the hazard lights going too; no one knows where they're going. I've seen this done and the towing vehicle did a right and the towed vehicle went left!

Actually its easier to pass a vehicle that's doing 50 than 90 on the open road because of the speed difference. They should let people use longer tow ropes as well, 4m is pretty short.
Yeh! I'll tinker with that.

... thus the reason it's actually illegal for the _towing_ vehicle to show hazards. Only the one being _towed_.
