I don’t care who wins, it’s another good day on the sofa, beer in hand watching motorsport.
Actually, might be just the motivation to move a TV down to the shed to work on my poor broken race car while watching racing. Santa, you up for a working bee? :)

Very biased answer:
1) More entertaining due to irregular terrain (vs 500 laps of same oval).
2) Terrain is not constant
3) Other cars are (normally) not in the way
4) Cheap to spectate (usually in nice and bogan-less places)
5) Sometimes very interesting interactions in cabin
6) Cars losing wheels actually finish (sometimes)
7) Most rally events involve "real" cars (not purpose built cars made look like family cars)
8) Very dirty

Very biased reply:
1) Bathurst is a demanding circuit with some very tricky parts, is not an oval...
2) see above, add in weather
3) bugger... more fun when they are ;)
4) free on tv
5) Sometimes very interesting interactions in cabin
6) Cars losing wheels actually finish (sometimes)
7) 700hp cars on narrow tyres

:P

personally would love to see Murph and Skaife do the business. for Murf to have a clean run with no dramas, will there or there abouts. he's always on the boil at the mountain. for Skaife to get one over Tom Walkinshafter

Be nice to see Van Gisbergen do well. But as long as a Ford takes the win I'm happy

Revvy those V8 Supercars run 290 wide tyres and there calling that narrow...hahahaha...You may aswell add in weight aswell what are they they must be 1400-1500 with driver and fuel..

Also cars add in side by side at 280 plus kph you won't see that in WRC.

Can't remember the exact size, but for the power and weight they are narrow compared to other catagouries.
minimum weight is 1350, but agian i'm unsure if that includes driver

Did you the Philip Island race, where they had the inside shot of the 888 front left wheel? Pretty cool to see the effect of camber in action :)

1350 excludes driver and fuel so loaded on the start line they must be around 1550. They using corner weighting now to keep the weight up to minimums.
Cousin is working for the wilson security team doing the realtime anaylisis of there data, fuel burn, tire usage, etc, bastard was lucky enough to get the placing as part of his course requirements for uni now he gets flown to every meet, given gear food accomodation etc for the weekend, part of it is writing more computer programming to better analize the data that comes in in realtime. Unfortunately he gets to see bugger all of the racing as he's to busy watching the car data to see anything else

3 Holdens the fastest so far after friday practise J.Richards on a 7.2 G.Tander 7.3 L.Holdsworth 7.3 aswell so really nothing in it.1.0 covers the top 10.Murphy 9th quickest with a 7.6.

Tander reckons he was on a sub 7 before he was held up by a FPR car and Lowndes also was on a sub 7 but was given the red flag as Warren Luff crashed his car so they lost that oppourtunity. All bodes well for the shootout and the race come tomorrow.

Let the WRC cars run at bathurst then and let them either run 600hp or restrict the v8's to 299hp

More entertaining watching the immigrant drivers at the local taxi depot

I don't no about that I find the taxi's quite entertaining actually especially SVD and Murphy's laps in the shoot-out were entertaining..

Yep if he raced at Bathurst for the whole Supercar program he'd win easily but on a serious note if that donkey Canto had not have crashed with about 30 to go Murphy could quite possibly have won the race because he was serously charging in those last 15 laps..But 4/thousandth of a second may aswell have been a minute close but no cigar..

Loved the Race and seriously all you WRC lovers V8s and Bathurst for me seriously SH*T over anything WRC offers..

in the words of my 9 YO son ' Murph must be like a caught fish' 'cos i'd be gutted'

good race, thought 888 would have finished stronger, but the mountain always brings an element of surprise
