Australian police cracking down on modified cars

Great initiative by the Aussie cops. We need some of that action over here.
Mind you, our dickheads will just clock up 20k worth of fines, have them commuted to 30 hours community service, buy another car on tick and do the same shit all over again.

By that figure they are working off $666/hr.
If they can transfer fines to community service it should be at minimum wage or less imo

Bearing in mind that community service is a joke. Apparently its great if you like playing cricket.

Unfortunately laws don't do much if people do not abide by them.

Furthermore, they are a bit 'ambulance at the bottom of the hill'.

Putting someone in jail for killing someone out of stupidity with a vehicle does nothing for the person who is dead..... nor for the taxpayer to keep them there... nor is it really likely to improve the idiot in jail for when they are released.

I think I would like to see more clearly defined rules/ better protection for those who follow them - starting with the 'engineering' rules. I see road rules as a guide for those who want to act in a safety for themselves and others, as opposed a way of controlling negligent assholes.

Having said that, I've only had a quick glance and perhaps perception would change by researching more. I did ask on an aussie forum to see if what I wrote earlier was the case - and it was confirmed.
