very happy with my ~300rwhp in my MR2

just enough for 2nd gear to start to wheel hop, barely JUST breaking traction in the dry in a straight line, which is what I want it for.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.
http://www.lol.co.nz/ random shit.

I'm along the lines of driver skill level dictates how much power is ideal all this talk about 5-600 HP makes me laugh there are very few people around that can get anywhere near the cars limits at those power levels unfortunately thats just a fact sure they see grabbing gears going full noise on the motorway or on the drag strip as seeing its potiential but stopping it and getting in and out of corners is what people should set there cars up for I no thats the direction I've chosen to go when modifying mine and to be honest its worked.

PS who doesn't want 50 more HP in the straight its the most used line by track day entrants.

Why should they do what you want? Its their own car to modify how they choose.

Coryn - you should have a 6 speed and single turbo.... Just because I think you should.

And you should also go drag racing!

You are wrong if you disagree with me.

And I suppose everyone should drive automatic Toyotas from last century too because that's what you do?

Open your mind mate :)

Why would I want to go drag racing???

It does nothing for me.

Whats the point in having all that power if you can't exploit it to its full potiential, its much more fun going round corners anyways.

Hahahahaha Drag Racers much...What did i hurt your guys feelings or something.

You still dont get it do you?

We dont actually give a $&#$% if you enjoy circuit racing. Stop bitching and moaning about what other people choose to do with their own cars.

No one actually gives a shit  I suppose if anyone's gonna stroke your immense ego it may as well be you.

What's the point in having a 2JZ and not realizing it's full potential? Oh wait.

EDIT: Beaten by the Lachlan

You say drag racers much like it should cut deep, I assure you no one is going to be nursing hurt feelings. What you are seeing is a more vocal response than the normal eye rolling when you get on your high horse about not everyone building cars like you think they should do. The majority of the world aren't too stressed about how some dude who posts as "2jayzgte" on a forum who owns an auto Supra reckons a car should be modified

BTW Preston, didn't Kawa's uncle get crazy power out of a 4E?
I reckon around 200kw is massive power out of a 4E while still maintaining reliability if it's built right. I think Dwayne's GT (BOOOST) had around that much way back when. Not keen on a 5E at all?

It's not about how much power you have on the track. But how you bully people trying to learn how to drive on the track. When you have the skills to drive half on, half off the track to get around them you know you have clocked driving and have enough power.

But seriously, enough power to have fun in whatever it is you drive. In my case 90-100kW on a good day on a generous dyno. 8)

I'd like enough to break traction in any gear when provoked, then just a smidgen more ;)

Mate if that's all you need, just take your tyres off the wheels. :D

with the price of some of these knock off rims that'd be cheaper than paying for decent tyres too

Going 4age once I get my hands on a crane n some other parts

Was just wondering what drives people - high power figure, or low times

Id love the same aswell in my 'cough' rb25det laurel 'cough' but dont worry im not a tocken "do a fat skid lil johnny drifter"
I chose that car as i like the look and wanted to build a nice sized four door, and love rbs (also love alot of other brands aswell, and certainlly dont claim them to be the best engine ever made

And to the original topic, off the top of my head my ideal power for my subaru would be around 350hp lots of torque and mid range power for hill climbs ect 8)
For Laurel as above as, around 450hp-500hp 8)

I'm stepping up from a 4K-E to a 7K, and will almost guarantee I use a way higher percentage of my available power than any of you guys on a daily basis.
