one of dads friends bought a set of "Y2K Compliant" Jumper leads, for the hideous sum of $250

they were just a set of repco cheap thin ones with a box on one end that was just a resistor going nowhere, and he was told that if he jumpstarted his car with these, it would make his car and ECU y2K compliant


on his early 80's Toyota corona with its Carbied 2T.

i think i offended him when I actually started rolling on the floor in laughter when he told me about his preceeding genius and ability to spot a bargain

Some of the earlier fly by wire Corollas have fairly unresponsive throttles so I can see why people would buy these(if they do what they list above). I was given a 2010 one for a morning while my 2012 wagon was being serviced and there's definately a little lag/delay in the older model. It didn't feel as responsive as the newer one.
