Sideros wrote:Maybe Vettel can repeat Schumacher's luck at Ferrari, if they build the team around him and focus everything on that, he's no doubt dedicated enough to want to want to win more world championships. Red Bull this season appear to have really dropped him as their pick for primary driver. Ricciardo appears to have been favored or maybe I'm just not seeing the whole picture there. I think Alonso to Mclaren could be a good move for him, if Honda come to the party with a top notch engine next year.

I like the RBR move they have moved on and aren't scared to push the button regardless of who you are World Champion be damned.

With regards to Vettel's lack of performance I heard the commentators mention that with all the blown diffuser type tech being banned it seemed to have affected Vettel the most and he just hasn't acclimated to the car as well as Riccardo has.

They have the best young drivers program and the guys they have at Torro Rosso have proved they are more than worthy to step up.

As long as Newey stays there and they can get more GRUNT out of there power plant I think RBR can take the fight to the Merc's.

Ferrari on the other hand are a long way away regardless of whose driving for them as its proven with Alonso who for the last 4 seasons has dragged the maximum out of that team hence why I believe the guy is still the best all round driver on the grid.

So with conditions the way they were, a crash resulting in a car being in a dangerous position how on earth did they not bring out safety car? Would have saved bianchi from his crash and now highly uncertain future for sure.

There was waved double yellow.
So far all the drivers etc have been saying there was nothing wrong with what the FIA did. Think how many other times there has been a recovery like that in similar situations with no issues. No doubt they will review things and changes maybe made.

Hopefully he will be ok, not at all a good thing to hit.

As much as what happened is a tragedy, there was nothing particularly different about this accident to any other, that would be covered under double waved yellows. Just unfortunate a river runs across the track through Dunlop and fate played its hand.

Extremely sad way to end the race, and even though Jules is out of the operating theatre and in ICU recovering, suffering a severe head trauma is never going to end well.

Im not sure how much anybody here knows about the crash, but he went in to and under the back of the JCB tractor, nose first, and went under far enough to rip of the left hand side mirror, and the entire roll hoop structure, and airbox...extremely nasty, and the first time I have seen the crash structure entirely ripped off of the tub. the top of his helmet was intact, and visor/mylar protective trim still in one piece but I have only seen shots taken from his right hand side, and I suspect the main injury was sustained to his left side :(

Fingers crossed that he can pull through this and have full functionality of his body.

I was just reading the post race press conference where the top three said they were having no issues. Rosberg made the comment of course they all have much higher downforce than the lower teams which would explain the differences.

Another article I was reading suggested the impact at over 50G! :o

There is now footage of the crash taken from the other side from the TV camera: http://vimeo.com/108126307

Yes I saw that this morning, and must say I felt sick when I did.

Impact speed of 203kph, and shifting a 10 ton?? JCB a couple of metres in the air and to the side is unbelievable, and now I fully understand how the roll hoop structure came off.

Again, seeing his helmet still seemingly intact on the RHS and front, gives a little hope that his skull wasnt struck directly against the jcb.

I see they have released more details on the type of injury Bianchi has suffered. Not a lot I can say about it without sounding pretty negative I'm afraid :(

Yes, it sure isnt looking good. The brain doesnt like any rapid deceleration, let alone 200-0 in a second.

I will still keep hope that a miracle occurs until told otherwise.

The weekend is going to be intense between the mercs. I reckon Hamilton deserves it this year, but can imagine something silly happening, and the double points swinging in Rosbergs favour.

I wonder what Bernies agenda is with the teams struggling with cash. Kinda disappointing.

Intense is right. I was just making plans with a friend to watch it together early on Monday morning...cant wait :)

I can see them coming together in this race, perhaps even at the first corner, so I doubt it will be a clear cut race. It would make it super exciting if they go off on lap 1 and both have to pit for repairs and fight their way back up through the field.

Lewis deserves it but if Nico wins it then he certainly shouldnt be called an undeserving champion. He has driven exceptionally at times this year, and has more than proved any doubters wrong who thought that Lewis would completely trounce him in year two.

Bring it on and fingers crosssed for it to be decided on the final corner of the final lap like 2008 :D

That was horrible to watch. Such huge elation crushed only a matter of seconds later :(

The way Massa conducted himself that day on the podium meant he will always have my respect, he didn absolutely everything he could do that day and to be so magnanimous in defeat is a clear indication of the type of man he is.

Other reports out today for both Michael Schumacher and Jules Bianchi...Schumacher is apparently wheel chair bound, paralyzed, cant speak and has memory trouble. Its sadly what I have feared was the case all along when media were trying to paint a picture of his recovery going far better than expected. I really hope he can atleast regain some of his lost ability so he can have some quality of life.

Jules is now out of his artificial coma and breathing on his own. He is still in critical condition but has now been flown back to ICU in a French hospital which is good as he can now at least be surrounded by his family and friends.

I'm not ready to quite accept that Schumacher up date as genuine, it differs from what his wife released just a few weeks ago. According to that release he was still in bed and unable to breathe for himself all the time

The report I read on the situation, was his manager saying the guy that said about his current state hasn't even visited him, that he himself is just speculating?! Until any word comes directly from his Manager or Family nothing can be taken as truth.
