when car removal companys come to pick up wrecks you have to sign a sheet, saying that you are giving them possession, so they cant actually take it

yeah, we had a car removed from old flat. they came and took it away when were all at work. They are meant to get it all signed off, but dont always!
As suggested above, give the local tow yards a call and inform you dont want remove from your property...
...or was today the day?

most towies worth their salt find this kind of thing to be a personal challenge, so assuming they are actually going to go ahead and steal your car you'll need to be fairly heavy duty in whatever it is you do.

i've had a few car bodies towed in the past, and trust me if they have a flatbed they dont give two tosses about how many wheels / diffs its missing.

i liked the welding idea myself ;)

Yep I have had a few cars picked up by pick a part. And they dont need any wheels/suspension at all they just drag it on with the big as winch.
You need to attach the car to something immovable like the house/deck/big tree get a big Fnck off chain and wrap that around the diff and chain it to the immovable thing.
And a REALLY OBVIOUS note on the car saying that no one has permission to take any car off your property.

You would have to be really on to it to get it all done in an hour. Maybe a morning and you could sort it.

Sounds like the car's on his property, just one of his neighbours taking exception to having a car yard down the street and trying to take matters into his own hands......

Put some "VTEC" stickers on it.

Lol

Should should cover it in a pile of dirt and put animal crap on it so they think it's just a big pile of shit, not something like a car.

Or just put alot of trip wires around it so they think there is shotguns pointed at them.....

Sounds like you need a pitbull.

How about just a sign at your gate saying prive property, trespassers will be prosecuted? Not exactly going to stop the most determined of towies but at least then if they take it and you do decide to go to the cops they can't say you didn't warn them.

lol...can i ask why its getting towed away if u dont want it to be???
(ie. is it been reposessed???)
cause if it is, then they can get the cops to come down and auth it to be removed...and the law states that any repo agent can take property that they have been auth'ed to remove by the said finance company so long as they leave the place the same way they found it...(ie. if its in a locked garage, they can break in and remove the car, as long as they lock the garage door behind them as they leave)...and if its the council that is enfourcing it to be removed then they can pretty much do whatever it takes to have it gone.

Dude, did you actually read much of this before you posted?? The cars a wreck why would it be being repo'd? and he pretty much said exactly why it was being towed.
Anyhow i'm guessing either it wasn't towed or was sorted, i reckon the best bet would be to take the wrek around the back of the house - if there;s room - where the old dude can't see it, then dig a post in or poor some concrete into a hole with a chain link or 3 sticking up out of it and chain it dwon to that, under the middle of the car as well so it's not easily seen :).

lol...yea, i missed page 2...that and the fact i just cant read
you could always invest in a car cover, that way it cant be seen so the old boy got nothing to complaine about (oh yea, i cant spell either :P )

so what has happened to the car anyway???
did u win...or did it get towed??

Ok, I have been working all week so couldnt get near a computer long enough to post. I parked my Terrano behind the wreck as close as it would go to the back of car, then I parked my skyline in front of the wreck as close as it would go, I ran a chain underneath the wreck from the bullbars of the terrano through to the towbar of the skyline, I then drove the skyline forward until the chain went tight. I strapped the front of the skyline to a tree then Reversed the Terrano as far back as it would go so chain was completely straight. The lowest part of the wreck was about 3 feet off the ground. When I came back home yesterday the car was still there and my neighbour came over and we had a few beers as he told me the story of the tow truck driver who spent about half an hour reversing up our narrow driveway only to find the car he had come to collect was impossible to get without either smashing the windows of other vehicles or cutting the chain. He spent around another half hour fiddling round with things only to leave in disgust.
