I'm having such a hard time finding a decent Manual GTT (for a reasonable price). Its getting soooo frustrating.

I find most of the ones at yards are quite rough body-wise - and I reckon i've been to nearly every yard in Manukau, New Lynn and Grey Lynn.

What's eveyones secret to finding mint cars? Im regularly browsing Trademe, Trade & Exchange, AutoTrader and Car Yards, but that 'right one' hasn't come up yet.

Glad I havent sold my car yet .

I got lucky... mine's from buyright in manukau. But that was a couple of years ago. I paid a premium for manula + non white though.

It took me forever to find my one too. I bought mine in Auckland also, everyone seems to be charging a massive premium for anything under 90,000kms in manual. I drove a mint one off trademe with 60,000kms on it (all standard) and the guy wouldn't consider anything under $14k! In terms of dealers, GMC in Grey Lynn had about 4 on their yard last time I was up. A few were a little rough like you say but they told me they would have any imperfections repaired before a sale. I also found them to be the most reasonably priced, think they were all $11990 for manuals around 80,000kms. Will probably incur on road charges though, 1st time rego etc.

BZG Wagon: I am in the same boat as you. Last weekend I went and had a look at a few gt-t's at the yards (ACE motors, Buy Right botny and manukau). I think the black one at manukau has the manifold problem, it sounded like a tractor as soon as you start it, and when you gave it some gas it got worse. Wasnt impressed at all. So hard to try and find a decent manual. I been looking at trademe a lot, and some prices are just a joke, some dealers in hamilton want $19900. Ted Tracey have a lot of black gt-t's in manual but I havent gone and had a look in person. Whats wrong with ted tracey? In your first post you said you wouldnt go near them. Goodluck in finding your gt-t.

I had a friend who bought a car from Ted Tracy's, and everything went wrong. They promised to repair a few small items before he took delivery and it never happened, and they flat out refused. Long story short, the car was a dud & on its second engine (some reasonthe 3 year warranty didnt cover engine failure?!?) and I have heard similar stories from others.

Drove the black one from Buy Right and thought the same thing. The silver one at GMC Grey Lynn looks like its been in a rear accident (look underneath & the boot leaks). Looked at one today which I have a feeling the whole exterior has been resprayed.

There are not many selling privately?!? And you're right about some of the asking prices. On my travels I have seen a few mint auto's - so im just holding out hope there will be a mint manual somewhere!

not really that much need, I'm not that worried about it, yes it once went down ninety mile beach, i'm not about to deny this,

it had a full immersive underbody wash, steam clean and detail immediately afterwards, and that was over a year and a half ago and there is no corrosion or rust anywhere on the car.

Yea same here, saw quiet a few mint auto's, and are readily avialble in black, finding a good manual at low km's is like finding a needle in a haystack. Hopefully the person who I got my oldmans gt-t can import me one in manual. To date, he couldnt find any good black or blue manual gt-t's. It has been months, so now I have told him that even white would do, hopefully in about a months time I will have a gt-t. :)

Thanks - already looked at it. We found it to be quite a rough car in the end.
