you dont need all the extra ponies modifying the engine would give in a 900kg car and it makes it a load more reliable.

i agree, the RX-8s have a fantastic exhaust note standard, reminds me of a motorbike in a way - has to be heard, hard to describe... but it doesnt sound like your typical rotor at all. most people would have NFI what you were packing!

if your going rotor then go all out and 20b the thing, nothing too crazy keeping it stockish will be ok, in a ae85 that is :D
the sound difference is well worth it, then theres the power band of the 20b much better then its little brothers, im a purest at heart but there are some things you cant argue with and one of them is 20bAE86
infact there is a cosmo down the road from me that is looking friendly for a swap so you never know you might find some competition in the future,

if your going 20b you better have a VERY large wallet, nothing is cheap when it comes to them

if you mean mod them is expensive yes i know, have had a very good look at all the jdm parts i could get, but if you keep it fairly standred its about the same price as doing a 3sgt conversion,

Rebuilding them is obviously more expensive also.
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

the are still an expensive engine(20b) and kepping them stock standard is a bitch when it comes to those turbos and the rats nest,as for rebuilding yeah costs more(more parts) and companys charge an arm and a leg for them i seen one guy wanting 7k just to rebuild it and you supply the block.

cheap option would be an s5 setup
