Renault Clio Sport.

Not the v6 one, but the 2.0 litre hatch. Sure its FWD but will clean out a overweight Golf Gti or Audi A3 turbo with ease.

Mate has one in London, takes it to a few tracks in the UK when he can, regularly cleans up cars he really shouldn't with it. That could be due to his driving though...holds lap record for Mini 7s at Ruapuna.

Citroen Xsara, Peugeot 206, Ford Focus, Skoda Fabia etc. Most of you have probably noticed a pattern here - but hear me out.

These car's are all AWD and Turbo in the rallys. Due to homologation (sp) doesn't this mean that there should be road versions of these? Hatch, AWD, Turbo, Quick. Everything I'm trying to find. But look as I may they don't seem to exist. Am I mistaken?

Unfortunately a someone said none of these are in fact awd turbo's in real life form, homologtion only works in group n and maybe the super 1600's??
Hey have you looked at the new mini's?? Haven't really heard anything about them so will probabbly be told ow bad they are straight away but look ok imho and you can get a charged one as well, still fwd tho.
Swift, still fwd or as people have said a3's, tt if you don't mind the styling (are they 4wd?) or wait for the new gtr whenever that may be out.
Pretty much there isn't an easy option out there that fits your criteria.
One option is to buy say a 206 and fabricate stuff to make it 4wd and then drop in a ransplant from somethig to make it turbo as well $$$$$ tho
in the *0000 bracket to do the work

The only requirement a gtir doesn't meet is the 1998+ (last model released was 1994 iirc).

Provided its in stock condition (the hard part is finding one), it won't use too much gas. SR20DETs are strong motors and in stock form they only run ~7psi. Relatively lightweight for an AWD 2litre set up, so plenty of pull.

The supercharged ones are a blast to drive. and apparently the turbo ones have more torque, and the same sort of response(ie instant).

That'd have to be including people and fuel surely. They're chunky, but no where near that heavy.

I thought someone told me they were 1280 dry or i could have just pulled a random figure out of the air.
I did read that bit about 1998 + for the year as well but seeing as i read all post's first i sort of forgot that bit

he has a subbox/amp etc in the boot, not sure how much fuel he had, but it wont have been anymore than I had when I weighed mine, we had been driving kinda spiritivley for the afternoon

In comparison, my car weighed in at 1290kg with about 1/2 tank of fuel, so even if the scales were out, theres still a decent amount of difference.

Haha yeh, bit of an aquired taste. I didn't like them at all for a while, but came to appreciate the look after a while. Miss the one I sold, although it was for a good reason at the time

Bugger it. Get an R34 GT-R
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Lol you sound like me when I was looking for a new car, I wanted turbo but was a little worried about having the rear wheels overtaking me in the wet.

I settled on a WRX STI, I must admit I was a little scared of Subarus at the time whith reliabilty issues.

I talked to a few people about them and it seems if you leave them stock and maintain them properly they seem to be fine (excluding TT Legacys)

So far no problems and I love it - Also it must be noted that I was always a mitsi fan and always wanted an evo, But when it came to it the impreza was alot nicer to drive in everyday situations and I couldnt justify the extra 4-5K for an Evo
