He amazed me with his forward thinking, and the way he asked questions and did research rather than just asking if something would work. He wasn't afraid to think outside the square which is something toyspeed lacks from time to time. He's been in my opinion a real valuable part of the forum and a real asset.

Its shame that things like this happen to people that really don't deserve to have them happen.
I hope his family finds out about this thread and reads it so they can see how he influenced and touched total strangers.
When in doubt, down and out.

Can anyone login to that ODT website and leave a link to this thread? Might be a way of showing his friends and family.

When I first read this I had no idea what to say, although I didn't really know him it's always tragic to hear about a young life ended so suddenly. I hope his friends and family are coping ok, and that he is remembered fondly.

Unsure of what to say to express the sadness I feel.

I liked Dave, he had a good head on his shoulders and was a crack up. He'll be well missed by all he touched. Condolences to those who loved and cared for him.

It's sad that we now have two toyspeeders who have died on the road.
(Jean was the first back in 2001 hit by a speeding driver, she was from Auckland.)

Will there be a memorial cruise for him you think?

Yeah the night he died it was one of the last posts I had read before turning my computer off to go to bed, and my closing ponderings for that night had been "barryogen" is a really odd user name for someone called Dave - I must ask him where he got it from. It was surreal to see the next post with his name on it was about his passing :?

And now I'll never know. As Blake said, its a solid reminder of how fragile life is.
