Mr Revhead wrote:Coran, you have to remember that most of the parts you got were through backdoor channels as favours. I remember at times a hell of a lot of arm twisting and talking going on to get those deals at manager level. Most margins were stripped from them and were only done due to you being a good long term customer who bought in other customers. So those other customers offset the losses or rather the lack of profit made in sales to you. In other words the promotional effect of you, and your car were factored in when sorting deals. When they decided to no longer discount TRD that would have changed.
Also as mentioned changes in currancy, everything is more exspensive now.
Hell when I was selling TRD springs left right and centre Kings and Dobi's were about $350-400rrp a set, and TEIN were about $450.
Now dobi are like $500 and TEIN mostly $600+!
unless you put some mags and tyres on tick at mag and turbo!
Yep alright you got me there were alot of contra deals done for me....lol...lol..
But in my defence I did help move alot of Supra parts throughout NZ and Aus for your parts dept..The person I used to deal with at Revvy's old dealership did however look after us exceedingly well and still does to this day.The real discounts were when you used to be able to get Sea freight pricing which in alot of case's were upto 50-60% or Toyota RRP.
True TRD man alot of this arguement is over price and I suppose with this in mind the addage you get what you pay for comes into play.As The TRD product is a hassle free install and a quality product.
But still it surprises me the extent of discount given per having the contact we did versus going through the parts help desk and the accessories dept at TNZ.
