He did actually own the plates at one point, so he must have sold them before if its not in his name anymore!

Trademe wont pull the auction now anyway, but he has to prove he owns them to go through with the deal.

And just to clear things up: you can register plates to a car on hold, it costs 25c i think, but they dont charge you for it they just add it onto the rego cost when you take it off hold. All you need to do is take in all 4 plates and fill in an MR6A form 8)

And auction was removed by trademe/the seller this afternoon.
