ok so are you going to tell tellica to play somewhere else because i don't like Auckland?

traffic is for people that have no choice but to be in it.

once your used to having pleasant drives you find Auckland traffic and horrible drivers unbearable..

Auckland is the reason we are loosing the give way to the right  rule. traffic is only going to get worse without it.. but at least its easier then actually teaching people to drive. and might as well make the open road speed limit 80 while were at it.

i hate Auckland

Auckland CBD is awesome for training to become a professional race driver.
You become mentally conditioned to constantly be aware of your surroundings and how to instinctively take life saving evasive maneuvers with millimeters to spare :D
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Haha, dude did you put any thought whatsoever into that pathetic excuse of a comment?

I was going to point out how wrong you are, but i thought maybe it was a piss take because of how stupid you appear to be.

edit: I used to live in Auckland, and drove through the city most days.
I didn't find it that bad, maybe i'm just so reasonable and understanding, that it never bothered me?
It is a myth that emos are contagious, and you may be infected. However, it is still widely accepted to wash your hands after physical contact

I love Auckland. Yeh, public transport sux and because of that traffic is bad. But, you really do get used to it. All cities have good points and bad points. :)
I hate cyclists. Though the comment about them not paying road tax is not always entirely true because most cyclists own cars and do pay rego.

I really don't get the cyclist hate. Yes, it's a pain in the ass when you come upon a group riding 2 abreast on a narrow road, but for the most part they are probably a 2-10 second obstruction in your day, on the odd occasion where you actually get held up by one.

Seriously, if one of the big problems in your life is being held up by cyclists, then you should stop complaining because your life is too easy. If it's not one of the big problems, then shut the $&#$% up and complain about something important.

I think the cyclist problem is proper cycling clubs/groups they make a bad name for all cyclists, although it is more convienient to ride two a breast and all draft off one another they have to learn cars are bigger and do more damage to them than they can do to them, its just simple physics p=mv.

I cycle for 'recreational' purposes as cross training for rowing and sometimes yes, we will ride two a breast when there is alot of us, but at any sign of a vehicle coming we will move into single file and move as far left as we can. Motorists treat you far nicer when you cycle if you are courteous to them. Any chance we get to use a cycle way or cycle lane we will as it is alot less stressful not having to worry about being run down haha

are cyclists an issue? or that they have to use roads.... would they be a problem if they had somewhere to cycle out of the traffic and away from footpaths... is that not the real issue?

Ha!
here in nelson a lot of them don't use them.
usually the fully kitted out tossers..
There is a bridge by work, the lanes are narrow and there are clip on cycle/walkways on each side.
Every day we hear a blast of a trucks air horn as some idiot on a bike is meandering across holding up traffic.
It's an 80k zone, why the hell would you want to ride across a narrow bridge in an 80 k zone?

If there is room, get out of the way. Simple as that. If there is no room, well then yeah patinece is needed.

Auckland has it's moments, it's not as bad as people make it out to be though. I can understand someone who lives in say, Queenstown or Napier (or somewhere else nice :) ) might not feel comfortable here, but people from Chch or Hamilton calling Auckland a shithole? Please...

The traffic problem is very real and a result of generations of local body politicians turning up to work only to stop their chairs from rolling away, however its easily solved by living close to work. I can't even remember the last time I went to Auckland CBD.

as far as cyclists i've got nothin to add to this :

Bicycles Are For Children…Like Masturbation, and something you should grow out of.

I just read yesterday that that we have 28 years of "affordable" oil left.

Between then and now prices will be fluctuate wildly.

First supply related price spikes expected in 2012.

SOON WE ALL GONNA BE CYCLISTS

To all the Auckland-haters: Auckland City - ain't that great (there are some nice parts downtown if you can to find them).

But once you get out and explore you'll realise how awesome the place is. Devonport, Whangaparoa, Waitakere Rangers / West Coast Beaches, Awhitu Pen are all amazing.
Then the islands; Waiheke (although they hate being associated with Auckland), Rakino, Mototapu, Motuihe & Tiri; they're all unique in their own respects and it's not hard to find a beach all to yourself on one of them.

To all the cyclist haters: f*ck you. I know I'll come off worse in an accident. Chill out & show some respect. If you hit me it'll take you waaay longer to get to your destination anyway.
