Life coach = "Just repeat after me, I'm awesome. That will be $2,000, See you tomorrow"

Very detailed build thread considering he was half way around the world from it. A Lot of time researching would of gone into it, and that's half of the hard part there

^^^^This brings the point:

I'd like to know how many hours of "labour" he paid just to have them take photos and email them throughout the build. Probably more than I've paid in mechanic labour my whole life!

I don't like it. I would have just bought myself either a Top Secret GT300 Supra or the Top Secret V12 Twin Turbo Supra for that money.

The car isn't anything amazing IMO. It's a cool build if you look at it from the perspective of the effort (and cost) that the owner went to. IMO the most admirable part of the build was the owner's dedication and the lengths he went to to achieve the vision he had in his mind.

I wouldn't call it the best build ever. Not even close. For the most part it's a huge collection of off the shelf parts thrown at a car. Not a whole lot of imagination or custom work has gone into it which IMO is what makes a "build". Good on him for having the resilience though. Not jelly of financial position either :) Just what I thought of it. We all have opinions right?

This is probably closer to being the best build I've ever seen.

i'd happily admit to being somewhat jealous of anyone that can afford to do something like this. i also realise that such a feeling is baseless, and like ionic it doesnt change my honest opinion of what hes done - which is admiration for his level of dedication and determination - and the lengths he has gone to get things the way he wants.

i dont particularly like a lot of his choices, but thats just personal tastes.

however none of that changes the fact he wasted tons of money buying stuff he never used, or that didnt need to be replaced. that to me speaks of a lack of focus and planning / clear idea of what he wants from the car. i can think of much more worthy things to spend that money on than brand new engines that are getting torn down for massive build ups anyway, or brand new stock autos (seriously!) that never turn a wheel.

after all, he started the thread saying he wanted the ultimate street supra, and ended up with something i personally would be terrified to drive on the road.

would take the stock Porsche + change any day.

If I had that sort of money I would get a v9 sti and remove every external panel and get it custom made in carbon fiber. a GD chassis weighing less than a GC chassis would be awesome.

Bin the Porsche Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition..Now thats something special not many others will have.

Gotta agree I mean 800 HP for the street yes I don't no how usable and hooked up it would be but from the Supra's I've seen with that amount of HP its free way racing against exotics and bikes and what not is where this cars strengths will lie.

You see the dyno plot? It actually looks pretty decent, they're not massive turbos, and it is a 3.4

Who cares the guy doing the project obviously doesn't care about cost so why not blow it all and go with the best that Toyota/Lexus has to offer....

Saw that but thats not telling you whats happening in the real world dyno and real world performance are quite different I've seen plenty of these dyno sheets but it doesn't take into account traction and more than likely with that sought of torque and HP I'm seeing alot of black lines and sideways action coming out of corners.
