Will have to see if i can get work off for the weekend. It will be tough as its a crucial one for us on the current project though.

Let me know.

How many spots do you have left I definitely have 1 but there is a very good chance I could have up to 3 others and will be able to confirm tomorrow.

Do you have 3 spots availible????

OK one thing about the dual car sprints.

Can we run them like the intermarques, that is a rolling start?

Send off 6 sets of cars at a time, with the length of the pits apart, then warm up lap and 3 laps.

start with the pair coming across the start finish line.
3 laps then
stop in the holding bay / short track.

I just find the Intermarques work alot better than any other event at mansfield, and you also run through your 'rounds' alot quicker

Cheers

Julian made mention of starting off the grid actually...unfortunately I dont get much of a say in how the day is run, so whatever format they use is what we have to abide by.

I reckon you'd be better off running the starts like a open-day from the pits at 10 second intervals and 3-4 lap runs.I mean everyones first lap is goig to be slow so the middle 2 are your timed laps and the last one for cool down you should be able to do at least 10 cars every heat and then people will get heaps of track time.

This has always seamed to work out best. Especially for new people to the track.

Really up to how Manawatu Car Club want to run things though... Not much point wasting time talking about it when we can't dictate what's going to happen!

Basicly I hear rumours of starting off the grid then only one flying lap. If this is the case then :( thats a very sad state of affairs.

Can we know the format before the day, also more details on the autocross

My understanding of the track day is 1 warm up lap, 2 flying laps then a cool down. What sort of details do you want?
BTW - Julian (the guy organising the track day, MCC motorsport manager) initially said autocross but then has said motorkhana...am I correct in thinking they are the same?

Oh dear, both different, Motorkhana is figure 8's, cloverleaf's, increasing circles etc mostly 1st 2nd gear stuff

Auto cross is basically a course set up between cones which you have to go as fast as you can through, think of a race track but with cones

Not really sure why we have to do a motorkhana, Do you have to do that to do the afternoon part? 4WD turbos suck at motorkhanas

I would suspect you won't be doing a dual car sprint, as that requires clubsport licences, and belonging to MSNZ car club.
