I tell you who has done well and Mr Ree called it about 2 weeks ago Riccardo the Aussie has done well at HRT since he has joined him he is right there with Liuzzi I'd say he has a bit more talent than Chandook.

I judge talent with what they do with it ie they no there in a bad car but still perform hence bigger teams will look at them and to be honest I don't see any of those big teams looking at Chandook.Riccardo on the other hand I can see him getting a drive with Torro Rosso next year and who know's from there.

Yes hasnt he done well? Liuzzi wont be happy right now.

Its just good that he is finishing the races, and not doing anything silly like throwing it off the road in a desperate attempt to get pole.

The STR issue is an interesting one, and I actually think Buemi will be the one to go if they actually get rid of either one of their current drivers in favour of Ricciardo. Alguesuari has really upped his game lately so if that trend continues, it will be goodbye to F1's only swiss driver.

I guess its also possible that if Ricciardo does well enough through the latter half of this season, that other teams might look to sign him up if there isnt room for him at STR. Williams? force India? Lotus? who knows...I hope his manager is out there asking questions about empty seats next year.

I Love how people get all passionate about there favourite drivers, its good, shows that the sport is still strong if it fuels this kind of debate in the forum, also shows we have a passion for the sport we follow

IMO there only been one really been two drivers in the last two years who havn't deserved there seats:

1: Naryan Tata Boy
2: Sakon Yammottttto My Mummys Owns a Hospital

But to be honest the only time a driver really isn't deserving of his seat is when he's asking the team to fit an automatic gearbox

Bring back manual shifting and clutch pedals

3 is always better than two

reminds me of an interview with Senna. He was asked what his best drive was. His reply surprised the interviewer as it wasn't Donington in 93 like expected (Where Senna blitzed the field in the wet)
Because as Senna explained in 93 he had active suspension and traction control. He reckoned Monaco in qual trim in the turbo era was a much much harder drive.

Aaarrrgggghh!!

3 and a half weeks before the next grand prix is WAAAAAY too long. I used to find the 3 week summer breaks hard, but a month is torture.

And to compound the issue, Motogp, and I think, sbk, and taking a break too. Atleas there is an IRL race on monday morning, and touring cars on monday night to help ease the boredom.

I guess a 4 week break is a small price to pay for the 20 race calander we have (should have had) this year.

So whos looking forward to the Indian GP? I certainly am, not to mention Korea again. It will be interesting to see how the track surface has changed in the past year, and what sort of laptimes they will be putting down.

What a run of GP's we have in front of us...Spa...Monza...Marina Bay...Suzuka...Korea...India...Yas Marina...Interlagos...Cant wait!!!

Totally agree on 4 weeks being too long, will watch the IRL this weekend probably but the time that it is on is normally too early in the morning.

I am looking forward to the Japanese GP, which I will most probably attend - have wanted to go to Suzuka for so long, so I am quite excited by the prospect. I went to the GP at Fuji speedway in 2007 and had some really awesome (paddock/pit access/met drivers/hugged John Button :lol: ) experiences but the weather was awful. Hope it is better this year!

Wow you hugged Papa Smurf? How cool :) Wasnt that the race where Ferrari started both cars on the wrong tyres and were instructed to pit to put on the full wets?

Did you manage to see Vettel take out his future team mate while under the safety car?

Im with you on wanting to attend Suzuka, one of the few remaining great tracks on the calander, and a true test of driver skill. What I would pay to drive that track hehe.

The IRL race starts here about 7 so I imagine about 4 where you are so you might have to get up early ;)

Haha I didn't manage the 4am wakeup surprise surprise!

I did see Vettel hit Mark Webber... the race was such a let down being mostly under safety car, but I had some brilliant experiences over the weekend!

Would love to drive Suzuka also, I have a friend in a NSX club that does trackdays there occasionally, so I should try and scam a ride!

The next F1 race is still too far away!

How lucky to have seen Vettel take Mark out, I hope you got happy snaps?

Did you manage to get any pics of the sulking Spaniard's car after he threw it into the barriers?

Did I hear Suzuka, and NSX in the same sentence? Reminds me of a certain driver who helped develop that very car on that very track ;)

Only 2.5 weeks to go until SPA and atleast we have IRL and MotoGP this weekend to ease the pain hehe.

Although its a bit old now, I love my rc car (TL-01) but unless you have a buddy whos into it, and atleast 10 batteries, its not much fun.

What sort of speeds do the nitro F1 cars get to?

Depends alot on the gearing and power output, but woudld say probably around 50kmh for that one, its a proper race motor in it for a spec series in Japan. Dont need to worry about batterys with nitros, just pit, squirt some more fuel and keep going!

SPA THIS WEEKEND!!!...ATLAST!!!

I cant wait to see all the new bits and pieces covering the cars in FP1, after 1 month of downtime, I expect to see alot of changes to the front 5 teams cars.

Expect the Mercedes engined teams to do well on the straights, and RBR to be stunning, as always, through the corners like Pouhon and Fagnes.

Can they bring enough to the table in the second half of the season to keep Mclaren and Ferrari at bay? Or will the laws of diminshing returns start playing a heavier hand?

Only 2 more rounds of GP2 and GP3, not much chance of Mitch Evans turning around his season, with so little time left, but fingers crossed he has some good results at Spa, and Monza to claw his way back up the standing to atleast the top 3.

SKY is claiming to not be runnning the qualifying session, instead choosing to play a delayed FP3????????? God knows what goes through their minds when they do these schedules but I will be streaming quali online if they dont show it. Wish I knew how to record it on my pc though :(

EDIT: This just in, Senna to replace Heidfeld at Spa, and possibly until the end of the season. Not confirmed by Renault yet, but will be any minute I expect. I just hope he can do the car proud and compete with Petrov or his F1 career will be over. A VERY big task for him I think

Heidfeld = More points than Petrov. Why would they do this??
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Petrov brings sponsorship money and has far less experience, so a 2 point difference, (less than 0.5 a point in the old money) is very respectable.

Senna brings sponsorship money.

The team arent happy with Heidfeld abilty to take over Kubica's role of a clear team leader. Oh an he is a paid employee so I geuss they feel they dont owe him anything.

I hope Bruno does well and earns a place next year, anything less would be a tragedy for him.

The good thing about Sky running FP1 delayed is they put it right in front of FP2 live. 1 nice long session in front of the TV.

That wasnt what Bruno needed but good to see the team bosses putting a comforting arm around him, so he can atleast get on with the weekend without being scared to push.

As much as I know its only weather related, it sure was nice to see Michael at the top of the standings again, and especially on this weekend, at this track too. I really, really, hope he can have a good result this weekend to celebrate such an amazing milestone, but unless there is inclement weather, it will more than likely be 7th or 8th place. Im looking forward to seeing what top speeds they get at the top of Kemmel compared to the others.

he has topped the last two practice sessions so your bet might have been as inspired choice :)

Its his birthday today so it would be nice if he got pole atleast.

Quali is going to be very exciting given the compromises teams are going to have to make if its really wet, or even quite wet for that matter. Running a high downforce wet set up at Spa is a killer if the track starts to dry up during the race so most teams will try and go as "dry" as they can given the circumstances.

Bruno goes above Petrov, who qualifies I about his usual place. Seems like the writing is on the wall for Nick losing a court case.

Also, wtf is with Maldonado? I missed it the first time around but saw the replays and was confused.
