Bled brakes, fitted up the track wheels and gave it a rough wash in preperation for Toyotafest tomorrow. Wheels are white again.... for now :lol:

Got around to fitting some RSR lowering springs.

Couldn't be happier with the height :D just looking forward to putting some new shocks in.

Think I fixed the major coolant leak. Heater hose had all but disintergrated at the bottom end. Will change the plugs tomorrow at manfield.

Bashed driveshaft loop into shape

Painted exhaust black

Put sound deadening in the boot

De greased my engine

Had a beer, ate chicken burger.

Need to replace rear bump stops in the back of my car just had the suspension all checked over and I felt the car was dragging its ar$e in the left rear end.Pulled everything out and the rear bump stops were worn to F**K and need to be replaced.

loaded up giant work trailer with gib/dirt/you name it. car+trailer was 3 ton.
300,000km+ uj's in driveshaft didnt enjoy despite car chugging up the hill.

Developed a pretty good shudder in driveline, got home and checked. Rearmost UJ had a cup shatter and drop it's guts.

Do you mean the bushes at the bottom of the rear shocks, mate?

Mine were looking slightly tired last time I removed the shocks, so was meaning to find some new ones at some stage.

What are you going to replace them with?

Unless the car is sitting on it's bump stops (which it shouldn't if your suspension isn't stuffed), their condition shouldn't make any difference to how it handles. They don't even do anything unless you overload the suspension in a gigantic pothole or similar. So if you have damaged bumpstops AND dodgy handling it may pay to get your dampers checked.

Sounds like you have some suspension issues then. :? I've never heard of people breaking them, ever.

Put deposit down on another Corolla. 2.4

Failed wof last friday on front wheel bearings need adjustment and rear springs not captive. Not that kind of car so for the first time ever I set about putting longer springs into a car.

The internets told me ford falcon springs fit, so I headed to pickapart where a plentiful sea of them was at hand. I poked around and found a fairmont AU (no tickfords about) pinched the springs. Set about chucking them into the cressida I measured they needed to be about 300mm to be captive, they were something like 400mm+ so I put them in without any chop chop.

Riding high now 8) 8) I can inspect all rear components without a jack and I suspect no more scraping on the drive way :D

Bought a '92 FX-GT as a runaround so I don't have to clock up the km's on my white Corolla. Managed to get it for a bargain ($2025). Brought it home, changed the oil/filter, chucked in a new panel filter, checked the spark plugs (need to order some Iridium or Platinum plugs as they just have basic copper ones installed), cleaned up the engine bay, topped up washer fluid, gave it a clean etc. Looking heaps better than when I picked it up this morning. No plans to mod it though as this is strictly a daily driver.

Haha, yeah, it's going to take a lot of self control, but I've got the white money pit to focus on when it comes to mods :twisted:

Thanks, it was a $1 reserve on TradeMe, so after a bit of a bidding battle last night I managed to come out on top. Fortunately the bonnet, roof and bootlid have all been resprayed not long ago, so it doesn't have any paint oxidization like this sort of colour usually would by now. Only downside is that it's a 4spd auto, but considering it's a runaround it's not a big deal, especially since it means the Mrs can occasionally drive it if I can't be bothered :lol:

Yeah those ROH's certainly aren't the best looking wheels out there. It needs two new front tyres for a WOF so if I can find a nice set of wheels for a good price, complete with tyres, I'll snatch them up 8)
