I hate the way insurance a55holes always seem to charge what they feel like, especially for excess.

Me: 96 Curren, $24 a month, but have house, contents all with Tower and a discount coz its also through TSB bank, have the knowone under 25 thing on it, full cover, $250 excess, but i am 27 and a girl so thats why its cheap, have never had a prob getting insurance. But have never brought something hard to insure.

One thing though, i can understand a little why they charge heaps for little boys with cars they cant handle, BUT it should be case by case not in general, some people ALWAYS get in trouble with tickets, illegal mods, crashing coz they cant drive etc, and others are good and do it right, they shouldnt be penalised by paying the same amount and stupid excess. I find out what the insurance is gunna be before i buy.

Note: My car is easy to insure, buy it!!! (hint hint)
If you say please, im on my knees

I'm a Named Driver on the insurance for my g/fs '92 GT Apex Trueno. We're both on our Restricted Licences but it's her Uncle who's setting up the insurance since he's a broker for State :D

I hate it about the whole mod thing, i have a 92 fxgt manual, its insured for around 9g (agreed value) with state. Now i got a new stereo cause the factory one was screwed, so i rang state like a good client & told them, & they were like oh we notice you've got mags too, yes, well your now at your 20% modifying limit. hmmm ok, but the origional stereo wasnt working so surely im just replacing it, same as if i replaced a door or a window?
but they didnt seem to see my logic, i swear they only employ retards.
I mean come on i be they'd be the 1st to bitch if i'd crashed & there was no stereo in there, sorry sir you appear to have a stero that belongs to us, so we're denying your claim. Pack of retards.

Though AMI was worse, charged an arm & a leg & asked me if i had fuel injection, i said yes & the lady said that was a modification 8O & made my car inelligible for insurance, i had to explain to her that most cars since 1988 had fuel injection & under that criteria, she'd have no cars to insure. Took a call to her manager to sort it out.
Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983

State wernt to bad when i rung them before about insuring an MR2 NA, $278pa including $1500 worth of sounds insured. Whcih is half the value of the car. The only term was i had to have an alarm professionaly installed, which isnt a bad idea anyway.

she really is a retard, yeah i've hit my 20% with just my mags and stereo, when i went in to tell them about it they said it was fine and that they appreciate telling them, but next day i get a phone call saying if the mags or stereo are stolen i get nothing. with aa $373.53 a year until october then it goes down 30% provided i don't make any claims, third party fire and theft i'm 18 and have my full $1000 excess.

Got a phone call from insurance company this morning (woke me up  ) to tell me they have changed their mind and now i don't have fire and theft just third party. They told me TWICE before that that it was sweet but now a month later they go back on their word! I've been told by my mother (ex insurance clerk) that they are not allowed to do this. Keep away from the AA

So they no longer have the double excess system, or is it only when you get to a certain no claims?
