Road legal V8 Starlets have been around for years, If you are building something just to be the first to do it why not try puting a 2 stroke motor in a Falcon as I doubt anyone else has done it.
Or you could just build what you want and forget about whether anyone else may have done it before.

has anyone fitted a 3.8 Commy V6 to a Toyota shell yet????
need to know whether it will be going in my Starlet or my Levin or my Sprinter.

That's not technically classes as a 'Toyota in the build'. :P
Also 99.7325% of the time when people concider things on here they never end up doing it...

yeah i no what you mean never end up doing it as i was originally was concidering a vh41de motor into a skyline and twin turbo it started to build car and motor and then sum1 did it to a s13 so i never finished it as sum1 else had basically done it
hence why im asking people in another thread bout a v8 starlet that has been in sum magazines as im wanting to now what they've done to see if its worth me starting to do such a job to find out il be 2nd or 3rd person to have a road legal v8 starlet
and it is technically in the build as iv got the starlet and its getting stript down i just havnt fully decided on what motor its getting or if its guna be road legal or race/ rally

thanx

thinking alil more than just a v8
iv got lots of ideas just the $ aint as good as they were before as im building my house aswell

sweet as

you, sir are a very nasty piece of work, and i don't think i like you anymore  how the hell is a man supposed to sleep after seeing that, knowing full well you have a collection of donor shells, a 3.8V6+5speed, an RB20DE, a few Subaru engines/ running gear and enough Toyota parts to sink a ship :!:

It's great is that. Pure brilliance. It's gonna look tougher than a tough thing once sorted.

I never claimed to be nice in the first place  :P

& yeah I stole it from another forum :P

But that project is just pure brilliance, I am having enough fun (read trouble) trying to rebuild a Capri & get the KE on the road, but never in a million years would I try and take something like that on 8O

Target 400bhp and 800 kg

Should make for an interesting "go-kart" on steriods

for the amount of work, cost and complexity, a full chassis or even spaceframe would probably have been a better option. But he's got big balls to do that anyway.

there are propably many many things that could have been done, differently or even perhaps better, as anyone who has undertaken a project will know, but i still cant workout how he came up with the idea

and I have to admit, when I first started reading it I was rather interested as to how it would look, but do have to admit its looking rather cool

Yeah, I think the only thing lacking from the buildup is photos of his body man working on it. Cutting through the floorpan with it sitting on bricks just looks dodgy, I'm sure they used something to stabilise it while it was put back together but there are no details there. Obviously for that sort of build a chassis machine is a bloody good idea, however a good panel man doesn't need one to do a good job. I remember the amount of measuring, checking and triple checking my panel beater did with the IRS conversion in my car did. That still had most of the sills, all the roof and lots of strength left in it.
