Same as an NA 101 with stock rims? :)

But yeah - make vs. make is quite silly - as soon as they start getting modded its more and more of a owner/driver thing than a car make thing. A honest make vs. make would involve completely standard cars and maybe one driver for all of them haha. On the flipside, it does solve the "POS Honda/Toyota" comments made by either side - but in the earlier days when there were far more arguements about which was faster NA (it wasn't once so cut and dried that a DC was quicker than a 101).

IDEA! <this will make more work for me, but...>

Everyone join NZPC forum, log their timeslip in the 1/4 mile results in the motorsport section - and then you can compare with all the other folks in NZ with a similar setup car.... Nissan, Mitsi, Honda... NA 1.6, Turbo 3l, whatever.

I think it might actually only be a top 10, but still... it should give an indication of whats what etc.

DYO was designed as the ultimate driver vs driver test at the strip.
And is a lot of fun when it is 18 sec vs 11 sec.
Shame to see guys willing to submit before seeing who shows up, anyway isn't it always about the fun of finding out.

Aww damn i can't find the timeslip that i had for my old car :( Not that i've actually been over and had a look at nzpc yet but i might well do that next click.
At the end of the day it's only make h v make t races that are counted at these drag days. And you will always find that there will be a few cars of ay make t at the top end of a class dominated by make h or vice-versa. Last one of these drag days i went to i was 3rd in class and probably would have had a decent chance at being 1st had i not red lighted in the last race before the finals. Why can't they run a pro tree at meremere for everyone :?: Oh and also whilst i was there i enjoyed beating some prelude drivers who had rather large mouths, or seemed as such, in the practice session.
Oh yeah, and it was in a 20v reasonably standard just to prove a point :P
Oh and lith seeing as you seem to have something to do with bits and pieces over at nzpc if i was to join up would you vouch for my 14.77, there seems to be a few over there who know i've done it but i can't find my ime slip, it was over 2 years ago as well, long time to keep a time slip

If there was to be a track-day it would be horse's for course's I think around Taupo I personally think a soughted EK9 Civic S2000 or Honda powered Lotus would hand me my head maybe at Puke and Manfield I might have a slight advantage with the corners being a bit more open and there being 3 straights where I can use my Supra's Torque and HP advantage but I'm not like alot of people on here who are to quick to right off certain Honda's as I know of a certain Lotus that handed me my head time wise at a Toyspeed day at Manfield last year I believe he got clocked at 1.17.4 which really is hauling ass around Manfield for a road car..

Supras are great fun to chase around the track, until they dissapear down the next straight. For some strange reason tho, the more power they make the more they throw themselves off the track :P

This whole debate over Honda or Toyota being "faster" etc is really really stupid. I say a lot of stupid things, so I feel qualified to say that. The facts are VERY VERY few guys ACTUALLY racing dont give a shizzel about beating a certain brand of car. If you have a look at say the endurance race at Ruapuna tomorrow, you will see BMW's with RB26, a Altezza with a 2JZ, an Altezza with a supercharged 1UZ, a couple of ITR DC5's, a Levin AE101 with a 2JZ, an awesome GT3 (I am biased on that one :)), probably an RX7 with a V8, etc etc the point is, most race cars out there dont resemble what they came out of the factory with, and making any kind of comparison is a bit difficult.

Nice to see that after 3 hours of racing our 2JZ levin was 2nd place and the only car on the same lap as the ex V8 Supercar from Oz, and 4 laps ahead of 3rd place.

Haha yeah I can. The Prelude you beat wasn't mine :P It just used to be.... it dropped 20kw somewhere along the line. My PB was better than yours still (just) in full street trim, with the exhaust still attached, on the shittest tires you can get so :P

You bloody Dunns and your crazy contraptions! I can't wait to see what you've got planned next! :P
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

ye-gods, what are you guys up to now??

let me see..........think of something really mental, scrap the idea because it was too sane, then double the silliness and add a really big turbo (or 3)

Um, 2 door, 2 seater, 3.2 litre L6 engine, that was supposedly up too 400hp before the BIG turbo was added.

If you are going past Total, it's there till tuesday next week.
Can't say too much as not too sure if the owner want's to let the cat out of the bag,

But here's a big hint

Back to that 2JZ powered Levin are they still running the same engine setup as last year or have they gone for more power.I know with that last years setup it has proven very reliable and very fast as I remember seeing it at Puke at that enduro where it was beaten by a Porsche but apparently it should have won but it had to do a splash and dash so it lost to the Porsche by about 40 odd seconds or something..

My point is especially with road cars that drive to the track it really does come down to driver ability and how much the driver knows his car as to how fast it will go around a track so all those peoiple that turn up with there Dyno sheets big turbo's and what not I love it.I look for people like these line up behind them and give it to them all day...
