I would say that the S15 probably generates more stress on itself than (i presume) the AE111 you bought?

Cost of replacement parts etc could be a factor also.

But then again, with any kind of insurance who even knows what they take into account when calculating costs.

"hmmm yes, sir are you familiar with the aztec calendar? as its currently harvest of the sun it means your premium will be $1000, with a special grain season fee of $150"

I got quoted (by the car dealer) around a grand, but he was "doing me a favour" by giving me 3 years for the price of one.

Give em a call anyways mate if ya buy it and they might do you a good price

my mrs does finance and warranties... ~$1000 for three years is about right.

Euro and sports cars cost more, and have higher excess with autosure(what most down here seem to sell with).
If you want some info on them, have a chat to Karyn at carbase, say Dave sent you

WILL THIS BE VOID IF THE CAR GETS MODIFIED? Would only get wheels and aftermarket suspension (adjustable).

Shop around on the warranty, the dealer will be getting a cut of the one they offer.

Also modification is dependant on the warranty, some are more lenient than others.

Indeed, but after reviewing various financing options I have to put this plan on hold. I simply refuse to pay them just under half of the initial purchase price on interest over 3yrs.

Sure, I can afford it...........but being stuck into a contract like that isn't my thing not to mention a waste of money.

Will save and go buy one with cash!!!

May have to wait some months and loose out on the car I'm looking at................but at least I don't have to give them 10k in interest and be stuck into a contract for 36months

Or you could pay it off all at once..........aka cash!

I agree with you on saying you'd rather have the car today, so would I.........that day has just been moved 6 months down the track; at least I would own the car then..

Yeah its interest free, but its still an unrequired debit around my neck. I hate debit. Hooray for getting a mortgage at some point.

I put my macbook laptop on HP - but its 2 years interest free. Yeah its been superceded already, but I use it every single day and its pretty invaluable to me. Still, I've just got a promotion at work and I intend to pay off the macbook asap so I don't have to keep paying $100 each month for it.

you made a good decision, you wont regret it.

Save about 10k I hope..........plus when I sell my Trueno thats more money........

I want to buy a home in the next 2 to 3 years, I wouldn't even be able to look at doing that if I was still paying $400 a fortnight for a car I've almost paid off! The interest that would have been on the car would be a good chunk of a deposit on a house.

Good luck with that, unless you magically pull $100K out of your ass

Maybe I can? I have magical buttocks.

Maybe you didn't read it properly, I said a good chunk of a deposit.........@ 10%+ deposit, $10k can be half or just under the deposit of my first home (remember, I'm in Dunedin.....not Auckland).

My point is that would have been money I wouldn't have had if I got a loan for the car because of interest.
