Anyone else got the Direzza Z1 on their cars? Fantastic tyres :D

sorry a little off topic..

Rang around for some quotes on some RE001's today.

Tonys tyres told me that "as they are a Asymmetric tread you have to leave them on the rears until you replace all four". I can see what they are getting at but there isn't any reason why you can't rotate these from front to back is there? Just not corner to corner.

Do they have to order asymmetrics for left and right hand sides?

AFAIK, They're Asymmetric, not directional

Should be able to be rotated normally, otherwise I'm going to be having an interesting conversation with Firestone

ahh ok, havent bought Asymmetric tyres before. so the tyre just has an inside and outside not direction as well.

When i got home after getting mine i thought "those p***ks, they've fitted lefthand tyres on the right". But after checking with them first (made sure i didn't go in arms firing etc and look like a tool if proven wrong) the manager said they thought the same as me but no there is only one tread design. 8)

Possible that once a tyre goes a particular direction that you should not mount it so it now travels in the opposite direction (ignoring going in reverse ofcourse)

I get my Re001's next week, cant wait. Quite nicely priced too, especially since I just figured out (after about 10 years), that I get quite a decent discount at Firestone.

Is the nitrogen fill worth it?
Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983

Nope F1 cars use CO2 ;)

And you wouldn't be wasting your money provided you get the pressures right and they don't leak. However if you have to change pressures or pump them up then unless you use nitrogen the the benefits will be lost.

took mine for a bit of a drive in the wet today, oh my good do they grip! Give it a bit of boot mid corner, and it just keeps on driving perfect. In the past I've sledged, or had wheel spin.

Very impressed with them, a bit noisier than the DZ101's I've had in the past when driving around town, but not noticeable on the open road. Would highly recommend.

Update: I already done 20k on RE001 and they are still holding up, looks like still got another 20k left, traction the same, very resistant to aquaplaning.

ill be most likely going the re001's in the next month .. goodyears are DEAD .. killed them in 25K approx ith no heavy driving .. never again goodyear ...

25k is still impressive. Kingstars will probably last longer so I assume they are better going by your theory? :lol:

No problems here with my goodyears, I don't record mileage though (possibly should) only really care about grip. Just wish my oil had more grip as I go through that too fast :oops:

How often did you check your pressures?
And what size tyre, what pressure did you run?
How many rotations in that time?

25k is low, but i would guess that you didn't take the best care of them to be so low
