Onehunga to Foxton is 530km so to Fielding it should be about 490-ish km.

Will be good if we get a decent number for a convoy! I'm getting excited thinking about it :D

+1 for auck convoy, we could all meet up at Bombay, then everyone can top up at once and drive straight, unless we stopping for dinner somewhere...

You are forgetting to include toilet stops (many people will take their girlfriends/wives so double the amount of toilet stops), food stops, inconsiderate Camper vans (hate $&#$% assholes), people getting lost etc.

Taupo works out pretty well as a half-way stop and there's good options for eating there too

Agreed, closer to the date we should make a Post and a list, try not to forget anyone, set up a time, do a rollcall... ect, im sure someone is a good organiser...

Can anyone reccomend a good place to stay, I never been there before.
