Thanks for the explanation, I think I just figured out the point of this car. It’s a “hero car” that gives Toyota fanboi’s something to rave on about. Mission accomplished.

Really???

Sounds to me your just pissed everything you mentioned is wrong
Come on, as said above the LFA was a marketing thing and also to develope new technology for furture cars, like a lot of high end/race cars are for, where do you think traction control ect started?

"hey fellas, i got a good idea, ill go to a toyota enthusiast forum and rag on their highly sucessful super car that they all probly druel over... and then ill expect them to be on my side about the whole situation"

Sorry, i love the LFA, it stands for everything a toyota technician believes in. Its advancement and development in technology. at peak RPM It sounds like a thousand women orgasming at once. its a statement. Its toyota saying, you know what we can be the no1 selling car manufacturer in the world, and we can also build a supercar that blows the pants off most others, and is also a drivers car.

Haven't had a chance to drive a GT86 yet, but tbh if I was looking to spend the best part of $50k on a 'fun' car I'd be far more tempted by this uuber rare Lotus Esprit V8 (which I have driven, and it's mega!)

The difference being, you'd need another $50k to keep it on the road
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

Waiting for someone to say what they would spend $50k instead. Me, I'd go E46 M3. I love Toyotas, but the FT86 has nothing on a E46 M3.

I'd get this. Pretty sure it would do the job.

Hahahahaha ok Bro,..

Actually I appreciate the engineering performance and reliability of the LFA over everything else...Nevermind the comparisons with anything else being a track-day enthusiast and a TOYOTA Supra owner which also has a good deal of engineering thrown at it makes me appreciate the LFA even more.

There are a lot of used cars it has nothing on...

New vs Used is a pointless debate, they aren't comparable.

A car is only new until you get it home and get out of it. Now its used.

Wonder what Subaru will do when they offer the brz alongside the WRX. They currently sell brand new 2012 WRXs for less money than an 86. Will they still ask more money for a lower spec car?

It's very rare you get a used car with <1000kms, where you know almost the exact service history, where you had the choices of trim levels, colors, gearboxes, factory options etc. Those are the pro's of buying a new car, although most will argue they aren't worth the drop in value once you drive it off the lot :)

^ People who buy new generally also think the same way, therefore when buying used most often you get those factory options anyway
