fwd 3sgte

ok i had a QUICK search but cant find nufin.
this is purely out of interest. :idea: :idea: :idea: :arrow:
but you know how a MR2 has the engine in the back and is RWD, blah blah? dosent it basically run a FWD setup just mounted in the back?
so.... would it be possible to do this to a levin/trueno/corolla?
i cant think of any real problems? but correct me....

so.... your question is can you make a levin/corolla etc mid mounted a'la mr2?
why dont you just by an mr2?

it would be stupidly exspensive.... but you could do it.

yes MR2s are basicly a fwd set up moved to the rear

yeah it fits, THA SHZ has a ae92 race car with a 3sgte in it. dunno about how it went in tho :?

na m8. could i drop a 3sgte into a levin/corolla/trueno(FWD)? its seems so obvious to me that you could. but ive never seen it!

So you want to out a 3sgte in a levin/trueno to make it go faster but still be fwd eh?

That would probably be quite cool and would go hard.


If you know what you're doing as far as making mounts etc go you could do it yourself. Could be easier with a 3sgte and some form of strong fwd gearbox since the sw20 has no crossmember.

theres a gt starlet with a 3sgte in it over in aus, its in an old fast or hot4's mag.......

yes it can be done, yes it has been done.... fensport in the uk...
also been done here... and if you ahve to ask.. you cant do it....

dont worrie m8 rather stick to the trusty 4age/ze/te :lol: . just interested. :D

does any one knw THASHZ best time dwn the 1/4? besides your fuel pump/lines maybe brakes and mounts would there be anything else? im surprised there aint alot more out there! :roll:

IIRC it went bloody well around the track.... But poos on the quarter mile, thanks to ZERO traction. :?

Think his best was a 14 or 15 something?

i seen a yooung indian dude in manukau with a 3sgte in ae101 went well and i remember allmotor workshop did the conversion

why not just do it in something with a 3sfe to being with :S.

enough power will overcome the weight difference :D just keep upping the boost bro ;).

Jools on this forum has a FWD Celica GTR with a gt4 engine going through a S54 LSD box. im surprised he hasnt seen this thread yet. Hes seems to love it, just has problems with grip :P

lol yea i was amazed too altho they used the origional 20v exaust and it made bad noises

3sfe exiv would be a good option,
rather than butchering a 4a*e car......
