i thought meremere was the only track in nz you could claim world records on ??
my understanding was it has to be done with the compulink timing

still a great time just i don't think its a world record

If i remember correctly, as of the start of last season, Masterton run the compulink timing, so records in all classes are able to be set there nowadays

Saw the run myself. It was mightily impressive. Mad props to all involved

Did he back it up? I dont believe you can claim any record in drag racing unless you back it up at the same meeting (within 2%)

i thought it was a port-a-tree system http://www.portatree.com/
i did a quick search on the raceway and thats what they installed in marchish of this year

its a mute point though
i was a dam fast run but its not a record
just tring to add some vidality to the claims in the first post

My apologies, I got carried away...it may not be official, but its stil an 8.3.
As far as only compulink timing being valid, where does it say that? Masterton Motorplex is still an NZDRA track, so any records run there ought to stand.

And from personal experience times at masterton are actually slower (hard to compare i know but without changing anything from there to meremere) than what you can normally expect from meremere, not by much was bout .1 for myself and that was going from 14.8 - 14.7's, hotter day at meremere to!

lol you have nothing to apoligise for its a honest mistake
its only when you start talking international as far as im aware
reson been i guess to keep cosistancy
if you do a serch on systems its well noted that diffent systems read slightly different times

mate its a $&#$% fast time
but in the grand scheme of things many many people have done blinding fast runs only to never back them up
i guess they made the rules like this for a reason
there has to be a aspect of reliabity to drag racing :D
