Number plates on a lean.

Postby ollieboy » Wed Apr 26, 2006 12:31 am

This has come to an all time low.

Look at this:Image
The vehicle is actually made so the number plate has to be mounted on a lean. :?

Actually MiniTrucking is where the whole "Angled Plate" thing originates from, so it's hardly a new low, they've been doing it for a number of years

Actually, it has stemmed from honda drivers wanting to lose as much weight as possible. One less bolt holding the front and rear plates on is a 50% weight loss in number plate bolts.
Some times you can substitute the bolts for cable ties for an even greater weight saving. (approx 85% weight saving!)

Personally I don't mind frenched plates on angles, it's the whole just take a bolt out thing that I don't like. And it looks to be ONBAGS, which isn't fake

Take a look at the shadows underneath it... unless it has some crazy perspex tray.

Fool - they tray normally gets half removed so the diff + axles have somewhere to go. Mates ute is setup like that. Can also be used to dig up roads (skid plates = funny). Picture looks quite legit to me :?

Removing a numberplate bolt is like moving the front number plate to the side, removing the rear spoiler, painting wheels matt black etc - they're all great free modifications for those who have a $10,000 car, but since its financed to the hilt there isn't actually money to be spent doing it up

I reckon im going to start up a shop selling these type of 'modifications'

For a low, low price ill remove a couple of your number plate bolts, recline your seat, tape some glow-sticks under your car ("awwwww choice neons bro!") shoot some bullet holes in the side of your car (much better than those 'fake' bullet hole stickers) and plaster the side of your car with 'performance stickers'

After my makeover you will be a hit with all the 'hoes' and may even be allowed to turn your cap around an extra 20 degrees to the rear.

Word.

Thats why it looks see through, cos it is.

If you look on other parts of that site other than the homepage there are parts where the number plate is clearly visible while on the homepage its blanked out.

there is a big difference between having your number plate flush mounted into your ute on an angle and just tilting your plate.

it can look pretty cool on a ute when they put the effort into doin something a little bit different and kinda unique to mini trucks.. but seeing young guys out in their bog standard cars with their number plate on a lean is just stupid
