best crapet cleaner?

so whats the best carpet cleaner to use?i got some old carpet from pika and its beeen sitting in water so its bloody smelly.

whats a good cleaner to use and methods of washing?

steam clean it! carpet cleaners wont get rid of the smell

Trust me, if it was immersed in water for over a week, you'll never get the smell completely gone. If it were me, I'd hire a rug doctor, use the rug doctor spray (that shit is pretty good at getting stuff off carpet, as well as deodorising) as well, then leave it in the sun to dry. The carpet fibres absorb any liquid pretty quickly, and can almost be impossible to get clean.

could always put in washing machine also (depending on machine and how hard backed the carpet is)

might be able to get it dry cleaned? its surprisingly cheap
otherwise id use that stuff that you get from repco, in the tall red can.. works a treat
