cheap i/c joiners

Postby SpeedRacer » Fri Jun 02, 2006 5:41 pm

not impressed with a quote i recieved today for $90 for a 45 deg silicon joiner. So was wondering if anyon here knows where to get cheap rubber or silicon joiners?

Looking or 8 or 9 of them (couple of 90's, 45s, straight and a reducer)

2.25" or 2.5"

what you could do is to buy alloy bends from Ulrich Aluminium, and just use straight joiners, this way it will work out way cheaper. We actually managed with 1 180 degree alloy bend and some rubber hose for joining on my mates cynos. (and 1 silicone joint, as we run out rubber stuff). You could buy some 'radiator hose' at 121 Marine, it is really tough and does not colapse. Although rubber joiners are not very pretty.

Not quite what you're asking, but good to know anyway...
for the hose itself you can use marine radiator hose, much cheaper than silicone. It doesn't balloon under boost either, but prob best to keep it's use to joiners where the gap is minimal, rather than for long sections.
I get mine from 121 marine on the shore, but anywhere similar should be able to look after you.

i can get you the same as mine, they are rubber, lightish blue or black , i think i can only get 2.8" straight, 2.8" 90 degree, and 3"-2.8" reducer, will have to see about 45degree, they easily clamp down to 2.5" as ive used them all for my piping and are sweet as, i can get them for approx $13 ech, pm me if you want me to get you some and couier them to you.

Or failing that, go to a plumbing supplies store, and ask for "plumbers' quick". Its' a rubber hose thats' cheap as, I've never personally used it, but I know people who have. I'd recommend this only as a last resort though!

Most engineering suppliers sell cheap joiners.

They are the factory style, two layers of reinforcement. Samco, HTS, etc are silicone and have around 3/4 layers of reinforcement.

They sell 2' for $3.20 and 2.5' for just over $4.00. They are rated to 60PSI. They come in 100mm lengths

With that you can buy a steel bend and clamp it using the joiners.
