Looking at a ST185 obviously the turbo model just wondering what sort of 0-400m these pull stock as a rock?
What are they like on petrol? i.e like how much will $40 bucks gas worth get me on 95.
Um any common faults to look out for?\
How much they worth these days 89 model

If its in good condition ... maybe. Very heavy cars in factory trim, there have been a few threads about them lately. Do a quick search through the tech forum, and you'll find tons of info about them.

An ST185 is the turbo model ;)

GT Fours have devalued pretty badly, you can get one for sub $5k pretty easily.
They're not that flash on gas being a heavy 2l turbo, but provided you can keep off boost they wont be too bad.
As for common faults do a search, this was covered pretty recently.

Ya low 15's id say, i havent tried. Gas wise, pretty good but depends how you drive etc.

Ive just got a GT-Four rc so im going to be selling my 92 ST185 pretty soon. 154k, no mods, widebody.

might sell my gt4 soon if your interested
its been my project for a while now but now i want a beema to criuse around in and pick up some chicks ;)

its a 90, black with 16" white six spoke alloys,fully stock interior its got good factory sounds,got the spots light aswel done 200ks,just put a new clutch in with machined flywheel in this week,turbo timer.runs awsome starts frist time, every time. going for a warrent this week.wanting about $3300 for it

Yeah, definately the PS needs watching. Every 3S i've owned has given me some sort of grief in that area.

Beyond that all that needs to be said, has been said. Theyre a pretty solid machine - but hard to get a very tidy one these days? (I seem to see some pretty average stuff around...)

i got offered one a few months back on trade-me, had link controller and was dyno tuned to put out 200kw@wheels 8O Think he wanted like $3000 for it!

I had one of these for a short period of time. They guzzle petrol when they want to. And did you say rock? We'll I guess thats a alright metephor for a GT4. They are quite heavy...

Same wieght as a mk3 supra :/. Celicas are heavy normally (3Ss arn't light engines, iron block) I believe its because they have side intrusion bars? Chuck 4wd equipment in there and you up the wieght a fair bit.

Having been in an accident in a ST183, and having thrown an ST183 and an ST185 around on gravel, I much prefer knowing I have a little bit of mass to play with, honestly. Can live without the extra coupla percentage points in my accelleration time...

Bollocks they are! The last Mk 3 Supra I weighed was 1700kg, GT-Fours are around 1400-1450 give or take 50kg.

Are they heavier than a POS honda or WRX. Of course they are. Are they better made. Definately.

This has been gone over many many times, can we let it rest?

1380 for your RC/group A 185's . 1450 for your standard widebody's - Narrow bodies - dunno - as i dont follow their figures much

15.4 was the time listed from the factory for the quarter but you can throw down an easy low 13 with enough spendies to remove some of their inherit toyota factory fitted stuffups

I did 15 flat on my 165 with 0.6bar boost, leaky manifold and cracked wastegate...
