Ferrari 360 Aerodynamic development

Postby fivebob » Thu Jul 27, 2006 7:12 pm

Just uploaded an article that I found which discusses the aerodynamic development of the F360, mainly the suspension considerations, but it makes for interesting reading none the less ;)

And right there would be a good proportion of the $400k price tag 8O That really is quite a cool setup.

Get an SW.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Nothing really to do with the aerodynamics... but a little MR2 history:
http://shell.deru.com/~sgn1/AW11/Intro.htm

Best bit: "Toyota says that the MR in MR2 stand for Midship runabout, while the bird found on the car (some jokingly referring to it as a screaming chicken) represents "aerodynamic beauty through evolution"

Read an article in a race car engineering mag that talked about a Integra R DC5 team that wind tunnel tested their car. By taping over and closing the gaps on the front on the car between bumper and body etc, they got an extra 6mph top speed, and thats allot when it comes to a controlled class.
