Shipping from aus(wheels)

Hi, anyone had experience with bringing wheels or parts to the equivalent size weight over from aus?

I'm looking to purchase some cheap 15"s over there and have no idea on freight companies etc.

They are from sydney and I got told to try UPS, I went on their website and used their calculator and it came to $970AUSD...

I was more thinking along the lines of 350... I have heard of people paying 100~

I don't mind about how long it takes I'm not looking for overnight service :p

Courier companies like UPS will always be the dearest shippers.

Call Owens Freight - now Mainfreight - and ask them for a quote to arrange it from this end. It's usually cheaper that way. You can try seafreight but it's usually only about 15 - 20% cheaper.

Hi, i have imported a few different size and shape things for personal reasons in the past.... I have noted that even though surface cost less and takes longer there is a very good chance of being stung for GST and duty, add roughly 18% to the purchase price. My thoughts would be air freight or start keeping an eye on airlines for discount flights as a day or overnight trip has been cheaper in the past for me.

Could try and find a mate who is involved in the industry and knows a Co-loader that fly's out of Aussie to NZ... but most of them don't deal with personal customers.
