polyurethane stuff for toyotas

Postby ronio73 » Wed Feb 21, 2007 7:39 pm

Hi Everyone,
is there any demand for polyurethane suspension stuff for toyotas.I know there are a lot of companies out there that make suspension bushings for Toyotas,so I thought I would concentrate on making stuff like polyurethane steering bushings, suspension spring insulators, subframe cushions, etc.
I am looking for a new project to do.
Thanks,
Ronnie

I don't have prices because I have to look at size of stock bushings.
My bushings are all mouled.I make the moulds and pour urethane into the moulds.

Would be keen as on an ae86 kit, they generally go for around $300 a set. So not sure if its viable for you to make ones that are already available?

I will make a start on bushings on these cars.I have to start searching for suspension arms from car wreckers,or if any one wants to get rid of their spare suapension arms cheap.

i'm sure some nice people up your way would hook you up with spare parts to make mouldings off.

i'd also be interested in kp60/1/2 bushes if they became available at a fair price

I've got a lot of spares for the AE92 Trueno and Levin - If you want to do bushes for them I can lend you front and rear subframes, control arms, hubs, etc.... (Replacement bushes for the rear hubs would be good, factory are spherical bearings and they suck when they get old)

Ronnie I know a bunch of Z30 guys that would be keen on some bushes depending on the price of manufacture...

This is rough estimate.for Average bushing which has diameter of 40mm ,e.g strut rod kit ,(4 bushings and 2 steel sleeves) would cost about $60.00
I have to design the molds first which I can do in weekend and it takes a week to get bushings made up.Once I get the molds made up for a particular model,it takes less time to make up the bushings.

For the guys, who wish to buy bushings and if I haven't got molds made up for that particular car,I will have to destroy the stock rubber bushings to make up the polyurethane bushings. So you will get your suspension arm back with the polyurethane bushings already installed and all you have to do is to bolt it back into the car.
Btw,I can also make polyurethane steering bushings and suspension spring insulators
Thanks,
Ronnie

So that rough price of $60 is per bush, or is that for a set of 4?

If that's the rough price for 4 of, I will endeavour to get a couple of KP rear arms to you as soon as I can.
