AE111 Super Strut shocks ride quality

Postby AE-0000 » Sat Jun 23, 2007 7:49 pm

Hi, I wasnt too sure how to title the post but i was wondering what is the ride quality like in terms of hardness for an stock AE111 shocks and spring.

I currently have a TRD semi adjustable shocks on my AE111 Super Strut and it feel quite hard and rigid. I can feel all the bump and holes on the road and it getting to be quite a pain. I dont know anyone with a stock AE111 SS so any feed back would help. thanks

lee90, urs isnt superstrut now is it?

back to the topic, with the TRD's although bumpy but you get lesser body roll and way better handling that the stock super strut ones. Lowered springs on super strut shocks are bumpy tho..

Hey I was going to start a new thread, but this seems like the perfect one to ask in. I have a superstrut AE111 with lowering springs and factory shocks and I'm getting some nasty squeaking now.

What shocks should I replace them with? Because I have a feeling putting more factory ones in won't be a good idea.

$5 says its not the shocks!

what springs have you got and how low are they? too low in s/s wears the joints out faster. ie superlows.

I have low king springs. I was told that super lows wouldn't fit in superstrut AE111s, only macpherson strut ones. He may have been right or wrong, but I'm glad I didn't go with super lows.

I didn't think Kings made springs for superstrut.
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

Yeah you probably right, but in terms of ride comfort they are quite bad, well for me anyway.
