Format for manfield megameet track day

Postby JIZRAG » Tue Jul 03, 2007 2:48 pm

This post mainly goes out too Mmm.boost but think it would be helpful for others to discuss aswell so we all get a general idea of whats happening on the day.

So my questions are,

*What time does day start?
*What is format of racing?
*Can we run multiple cars?
*Do we need flag marshalls etc?
*Are passengers allowed?
*Scruteneering requirements / who is doing it?
*What time are we finishing up?

cheerz, hope this hasnt been covered elsewere but i cant find it

I'm trying to get hold of Julian myself to sort out these details. As for multiple cars, unless yours blows up during the day, then no.
Flag marshalling and scrutineering will be done by Manawatu Car Club.

Being that manawatu club is dong scruitineering and marshalls i would assume that there will be no passengers unless your car is caged and set up for passengers. Scrutineering will be the same as pretty much any club track event - i wonder if you guys running will need extinguishers in the car?? My guess would be yes although you may be able to just put them in the glove box whilst on track.

Wouldnt that be more dangerous than not having on in the car at all.

4-5kg ball hurtling through the glovebox at 100km/h. Nasty!

If that is true, then somebody is in a lot of trouble. That's the stupidest and most dangerous thing I've heard this week, and there's been some stiff competition for the stupid title this week.

Some of these days, as long as there are extinguishers on site then you can get away with it.

It depends on the format of the day, weather it's driver training or club sport etc...

I'm hoping it will be a driver training format as I don't want to have to drill holes in the floor of the new car just yet:cry:

Oh yeah, as far as I was aware it is going to be held as a driver training day. Saves lots of hassles.

Would the track days be open for the public to come and watch?

I doubt the FX or even me for that matter would make it around the track, so i'd rather just watch you guys fang around.
