check who it was through + check with the likes of the bigger freight companies like Mainfreight for depot to depot shipping

thats almost what we paid to freight a set of wheels from auzzie,
try main freight or tnl. opt for depot to depot and get them dropped off and pick them up, saves a fair bit

I bought some mags from Auckland and got them shipped to Dunedin. Organised freight through Northern Southland in Dunedin......they however contracted a useless North Island company called Rapid Road Freighters (don't use them) who lost them for about a week.

It seemed paper work for them is not a priority. I got them in the end, cost about $70 all up................but only because I got it half price because they lost them for a week.

But $140 would still have been pretty good.

What company is the guy using to ship them?

That price souds pretty expensive. I had 4 wheels posted up from south island to auckland for $80. Maybe that guy is trying to tuck you.
Anyway if you only have to worry about shipping wheels from one end of the country to the other youre lucky. Try getting them from Japan or the US.

wheels them selves are not the problem. when tyres are added, the weight and cubic measurement doubles...........so too the price!

Thats probably couriered. I paid around $70-$80 through Freightlines to send some 17s with tires to Napier from Christchurch on a pallet. Got it picked up at my work, where I shrink wrapped them onto the pallet and they dropped off at the buyers work.

Really? When they were trying to find them I had some muppet ringing me from Auckland telling me they didn't know where they were..............I was really nervous, I thought that someone had seen them and stolen them. They were expensive SSR MkII 14x8 and 14x9 so I didn't want to loose them.

only worth shipping wheels if they are still a good deal with postage included in the price, otherwise just wait.

I paid $80 for some rims, then $70 for postage

sold them for about $180 when I lost interest tho 8)
