any idea why?

after pulling apart my 2nd 4age motor in as many nights, i noticed the sump off earlier 4a had the sump plug on the back off the sump and the newer had it at the front, any reason for this? yes i know its random
toyota supra 1996 2jzgte t64 turbonetics
Was 300hp on 10psi with stock twins, hopefully on similar boost be around 400hp

Only time I noticed that was that the sump off the old engine from my old AE86 was on the opposite side. I assume its because the engine was originally on a north south rwd format, then when they put it in a east west format it was better to have the drain plug on the other side.

ie instead of having the drain plug closer to the firewall in fwd, its now on the "front".

Or the sump making machine had an 'off' day.

cant member what the 1st one came off, i guess il be able to tell fom the the way the baffles run in the sump

AW11, AE82 and AE86 look to have the plug on intake side according to our parts catalogue.
