Yeah, depending what it is, often better off buying one here.

i was gunna do this, old thread here, but then found the price to import stuff was more than expected, especially shipping and landing fees (+ gst)

In the end a trueno bzg popped up two weeks later for just over 1k that I bought, was dereg'd but everything went.

I recomend being patient and trying to get one here thats been crashed.

EDIT: but then a bzg trueno would be more common in NZ?

i was allowing approx 5-7k for a landed car, is that about right or would it cost alot more?

ts going to cost me like 2-3k for a gearbox and pedals for the manual conversion buying from trademe.

I figure a whole donar car would be alot easyier and also would help with all the little things you need, computer etc etc.. and i could sell the leftover parts or keep as spares.

from my brief dealings with Ewan from Hayatonka, your costs will be:

=Cost of car
+ ~45,000 yen fee (less if car is below 150,000 yen)
+ ~NZD 1700 incl gst shipping - landed

Divide yen by ~82 to get NZD
=cost of car + 2300

Check out Hayatonka.com, you can email him from there.

Don't forget GST on the price of the car + shipping when it lands, and MAF fees.

1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!
