The bill also allowed for the vehicles of people with overdue traffic fines to be seized to pay the fines and for courts

Good job!!!

'Cruising' is already banned on some streets, so maybe they'll just add more areas.

Crushing is a waste IMO. Start up a government owned pick-a-part and dump the cars in there

Not area's,

repeatedly driving over the same piece of road, ( any road )
they consider cruizing.

.... Courier drivers wont be too keen on that...

I think they also said something like "Repeatedly driving over the same piece of road in a manner that shows off the engine of the car (revving).

Well I still think the theory of 'if you're doing nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about' will apply whatever happens. Go out looking for trouble, you'll get it.

I mean whats the point of going over and over the same piece of road.

I'm not fond of the cruising thing. It can be easily manipulated by the Police. Its your word against theirs and they just might not like the look of you.

Of course, I'm not saying all cops are like that. I've met some damn good officers in my time, but every crowd has its bad apples unfortunatly.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

3 offences in 4 years??? halve the time frame and the law will be just.
those who have kids and live in an area frequented by the 'hardcorestreetdriftbrigade' will appreciate these sentiments. those who think it's acceptable, PM your address and i'll got to the darside and harrass your 'hood when your trying to sleep!!!

4 years is a bit lengthy.
especially considering alot of these laws can be used when it was accidental eg losing traction on a round about when it's wet - sustained loss of traction or something rediculous.

I agree that you will avoid any trouble unless you make it for yourself but still I don't want to have to worry about getting pinged for some rediculous reason everytime I go for a drive.

ive just got my restricted licence so when i go out driving, i just 'cruise' and not going anywhere particular just because i can.

I was followed by a cop for a long while today, when i drove past them when turning left at the lights, they were both starring at me like they were about to quickly pull me over but i wasnt doing anything wrong.

A lot of people cruise due to boredom... Who are the government to say thats the wrong thing to do?

I think it's fine having them "doing laps" in town, away from houses etc. If they commit a crime then make an arrest - easy as that.

Alot of the trouble is that cruising, as they put it, has an anti-social aspect to it. Sure if you "cruise" somewhere and it's just you and your mate, then what can go wrong. Surely the cops won't pull you over as long as your not going round the same section of road repeatedly.
I say good on them for pinging the racers, racing off from a set of lights or whatever. Can't always put a stop to it totally, and who's going to foot the bill when they crush the cars? Will they bump up the registration on cars to fund the "car crusher"?

its just more retarded laws that will be enforced for 6 months or a year. its not as if the current laws dont allow them to deal with 'boyracers'

as someone said the current laws already allow for cars to be impounded permanently, but this has only happened in 2% of cases.

does anyone know who is behind this bill? it sounds like a sue bradford special

christ when national got in i thought 'at least we will be done with the childish attempts at social engineering'

I'm picturing a whole lot of buses being crushed!

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

why is the penalty for doing a small burnout in a deserted industrial area, or accidentally wheelspinning out of a driveway, harsher than those for drunk drivers?
