Insulation for inside of van?

Postby cat007 » Fri Jul 10, 2009 11:09 am

Hey all
Our Hiace has insulating curtains and a wooden floor but I'm wanting some sort of insulation for the roof and top half of the walls that have exposed metal.

Any suggestions on what I should/could use?

There's limited space so anything under 10mm thick would be best....

Cheers :)

I know in the corolla's I have pulled apart above the head lining there is 10mm carpet/mat that has adhesive on one side that sticks to the roof.
I guess something like this must be commercially available

another cheap alternative, if you can score it free would be carpet underlay, attach with spray on adhesive

That's a brilliant idea!

Then I'd just somehow attach some sort of vinyl or felt to make it look better :P

nah dimpled effect ftw :P

but there's all sorts of underlay options, adding vinyl etc would be as simple as spraying the adhesive on the back and slapping it up 8)

cheap yes, but functional 8)

at the moment the bed spans all the way across - but after the sink and cabinets are bolted in the whole beds only 110cm wide lol

any more than 3 ladies and things get uncomfortable

And the itch cant be worse than anything you haven't pickup already in the van

what about just applying a layer of automotive carpet - the stuff used to cover sub-boxes. You can get it in different thickness's, stuff I have here is about 10mm
