Dash Bulbs...

Postby neo » Wed Sep 16, 2009 12:30 pm

Is there any alternatives for the 'unique' bulbs that are used behind the heater controls / hazard switch etc?.

Toymota want $7-10 a bulb, and Narva dont have anything that suit..

Only real alternative I can think of is pick-a-part :)

Cheers

No, they're a little wedge bulb with wires that go through the base, and wrap around it. Any auto sparky should carry them, I think Gruars supply them
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

I think I know the ones you mean, do they look like this:

I got some from Jaycar for the subaru Hazard and demister switch, was a fiddly job but worked well, the bulbs have long wires as Dellorto described

I think these were the ones I used, slightly larger but worked:

what would be good is a LED replacement, so it re-freshens the look of the old 80's dash, my new cars dash is fantastic, bright and easy to read, not foggy and yellow,
