Boost Control with Power FC ST205

Postby ST205 GT4 NZ New Group A » Sat Nov 21, 2009 7:55 am

Thought that other people might be interested to know that you don't have to buy the seperate "boost control kit " for the power FC at $$$$.

I just used a MAC valve and connected it the factory boost control solenoid feeds and it works perfectly.

In effect all the boost control kit from apexi is, just a valve.

Turn it on in the power fc and set your four boost presets,

Got any more info of this other valve you speak of?

I know there has been hack jobs of using other valves in place of the APEX'i one, but you still need a plug, and I *think* you need datalogit software to adjust the solenoid drive values?
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

Boost Control

Postby ST205 GT4 NZ New Group A » Sat Nov 21, 2009 6:27 pm

The valve I used was the one from my old profec boost controller.

Told by a mate that the valve is called a MAC valve.

Just quite surprised that instead of spending American $222 + or - on the " official boost control kit " I could just re use my old valve and that it works !

Of course I put a new plug on the valve and wire feeds.

Hey no expert but thought others would be interested to know that the "kit" is just a valve and wire, from the look of other boost control kits for other cars have a map sensor as part of the kit.
